http://www.level23d.blogspot.com/2011/03/lecture-6-animation-basics.html

3D Modelling and Animation 2011. Tuesday, 15 March 2011. Lecture 6 - Animation Basics. There are three main areas of the 3DS Max interface which is allocated to animation. They are:. At the base of the 3DS Max interface on the left hand side you can see Auto, Set K and a button with the image of a key on it. There is also a time line at the bottom of the interface, with a slider, which is called the Track bar. Click and drag a sphere onto the desktop and position it at the top of the front viewport.

3D Modelling and Animation 2011. Monday, 21 February 2011. Week 5 - Reminder that you hand in work at the end of Week 6! Just a small reminder that you will be handing in work on the 4th March - three models that you will be using in your James Bond animation placed on a disc or memory stick along with a print out of your blog. Lecture 5 - Camera modify panel. With Field of Depth you can make the background objects blurr to give a true to life representation. Lecture 5 - Cameras - Setting up your camera.

3D Modelling and Animation 2011: Lecture 8 - Pulling the Curtains - Cloth Collection

http://www.level23d.blogspot.com/2011/03/lecture-8-pulling-curtains-cloth.html

3D Modelling and Animation 2011. Tuesday, 22 March 2011. Lecture 8 - Pulling the Curtains - Cloth Collection. Set up a scene using two planes for your curtains with plenty of segments, a pole made out of. A long cylinder, and the curtain hooks made from small cylinders. Make sure that you name all of the parts. You can only use the cloth modifier with a 2 dimensional shape like a plane, with plenty of segments. Select curtain and assign a cloth modifier. Looks like a t-shirt in the toolbar. That the curt...

3D Modelling & Animation: March 2011

http://sbewers-3dmodelling.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

3D Modelling and Animation. Tuesday, 8 March 2011. Week 7 - Bouncing Balls Animation. This is my first animation created in 3DS Max during one of the tutorials. It is a very simple animation of some bouncing balls. Friday, 4 March 2011. Golden Gate Bridge Model. Using the mental ray system allowed me to apply lots of different materials to different areas of the environment - using a stream/river water material for the river, a metal material for the bridge structure and a rough concrete material for the...

3D Modelling and Animation. Tuesday, 25 January 2011. Week 1 - House. Here is my first attempt at using 3D Studio Max - just a small house/villa with a few trees surrounding it. I'm quite happy with the result but now understand just how much it will take to learn the software and how complicated 3D modelling actually is. Reaction to the Brief. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 3D Modelling & Animation: Final Trailer and Evaluation

http://sbewers-3dmodelling.blogspot.com/2011/04/final-trailer-and-evaluation.html

3D Modelling and Animation. Tuesday, 12 April 2011. Final Trailer and Evaluation. This is the final result of the animation I have produced for the assignment with all of the scenes edited together and sound included. Another thing that could be improved is the landscaping. Currently it seems a bit bare and, although not a key point of the animation, it would be nice to add a bit more to the landscape to make it a bit more pleasing to the eye. 3D Modelling and Animation. Saturday, 2 April 2011. Week 9 - Morpher. In this week's tutorial we had to create an animation using the morpher modifier. This is another technique which provides the answer for another animation problem - that of facial expressions and movements. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Final Trailer and Evaluation. 3D Modelling & Animation: Week 10 - Reactor

http://sbewers-3dmodelling.blogspot.com/2011/04/week-10-reactor.html

3D Modelling and Animation. Saturday, 2 April 2011. Week 10 - Reactor. In this week's tutorial we were introduced to the Reactor physics engine in 3DS Max and rigid body collections. To practice using the techniques, we had to animate a bowling alley so that the ball knocked over the pins at the end as realistically as possible. Upon rendering, I could see how realistic the animation looked and I am very pleased with the results from this tutorial. This is one technique that will definitely be very u...

3D Modelling & Animation: Week 8 - Path Constraints

http://sbewers-3dmodelling.blogspot.com/2011/04/week-8-path-constraints.html

3D Modelling and Animation. Saturday, 2 April 2011. Week 8 - Path Constraints. In this week's tutorial we had to create an animation where an object follows a path. This was a step-up from last weeks introduction to 3D animation and is a good technique to use in order to specify exactly where an object should travel during the animation without using lots of keyframes. Once this was done, I applied a smooth concrete material to the track and made a basic landscape around it using a plane and the noise mo...

3D Modelling and Animation. Monday, 28 February 2011. Week 4 - Daylight. This is the scene I created by taking some basic shapes, adding different materials to the shapes and using the Mental Ray daylight system. I was very impressed with this technique and very happy with the rendered scene. The long shadows and material effects really make the scene come to life. I believe I used a late February afternoon setting to achieve this type of lighting. Week 4 - Pumpkin. Week 4 - Lighting. This is my work in ...
