October 02, 2014. The hole in my heart. And now there is a hole in my heart. A hole approximately the size of a backyard swingset:. Today is a rough day. Of course, it is also the first blog post I'm doing in 2014, which isn't exactly a fair representation of 2014. Except to say that we've been busy. And Facebook wrecked havoc on all my blogging friends. Kids outgrown it, huh? And have it feel like daggers in my heart because - No! The kids haven't outgrown it! Not me. But it is. I guess? But we got a chance to visit the National Museum of American History, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (where they print the money, but don't let you take photos! I have to see it in person sometime, b/c for some reason I'm having trouble orienting myself - I guess after a long winter it's been too long since I've been in your backyard. November 12, 2013. MLK, Lincoln, 1600 and Leaves. Monday Alice loved curling up by the fire. In front of the Lincoln Memorial. Standing where MLK Jr gave the "I have a Dream" speech. Alice then taught us the next four lines, which was pretty cool. Go public school. WW2 memorial. on Veteran's Day! Walking past the White House.
