Lauren Forrester: August 2009
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 3 August 2009. There has been a distinct lack of activity on here for a good couple of months now, so I suppose I better let those of you who care know what I've been up to. The first month of summer was taken up with a lot. Of drinking, moving house, working and saving money (for that all important Mac purchase) as well. As just enjoying the few days of sunny weather! This is where things start to get marginally interesting! Some things I collected, some things I photographed as a reference.

Lauren Forrester: Phone Lines.
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/02/phone-lines.html
Tuesday, 3 February 2009. I started thinking about phone lines as actual objects, not just how we are connected by them, and I came across these photos. The state of the phone lines in places like Asia. Are horrific, there seems to be no order what so ever, and when hundreds of people are all connected into the same mess, it's not surprising. When things go wrong! The image below shows a clever advertisement designed for a brand of conditioner,. Not very relevant but cool none the less! What is a line?

Lauren Forrester: Critical Analysis Sesh.
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/05/critical-analysis-sesh.html
Monday, 4 May 2009. Session with Amber was actually really useful. We each brought along 5 pieces of. Contemporary design that had some link to the current brief (see 'design practice 1' blog) and we basically talked about. What each of us had to present. We then went on to discuss what we had in mind for the current brief, where we thought it was going, and what relevance that had to the chosen imagery. Images gave me a broader knowledge of what was happening within contemporary. Value The collage and e...

Lauren Forrester: Summer update.
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/09/summer-update.html
Tuesday, 8 September 2009. Hey guys and girls. This post is for my own use more than anything. It seems I've (as usual) become a little confused with what I'm trying to achieve with this summer project, so let me spell out a few things that I do and do not want to come from this, just so if anything, I have a clearer picture in my head. I DO NOT WANT. To have a polished set of books, that are functional in some way, even if it just means they're nice to flick through. . Elective of last year. .

Lauren Forrester: What is a line, part 3
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-is-line-part-3.html
Sunday, 22 February 2009. What is a line, part 3. So my previous ideas have lead me absolutely. No where, and since this is such a long brief I really wanted to get to grips with a. Subject that actually interested me. I decided to sit down for a few hours and brain storm a bit. And this is what I came up with. The notes in yellow highlight ares of particular interest, so far I have. A formation of people, objects or things on beside or behind each other. People - busy streets. Things on a shelf. Makes f...

Lauren Forrester: DON'T PANIC!!!!
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/03/dont-panic.html
Wednesday, 4 March 2009. Pure = A clear conscience. What I think anyway. See what I think happened here, is I chose to answer the Don't Panic brief, and then people started to send out questionnaires regarding the recognition brief, based on acts of kindness. So then I started to think about how important these little acts are to me. and I decided I wanted to address a similar issue in my resolution. Maybe I answered the wrong brief, maybe I didn't. Oh, and, I make better pancakes than you :).

Lauren Forrester: Elective: Recycling and sustainability.
http://laurenforresterbagd.blogspot.com/2009/03/elective-recycling-and-sustainability.html
Thursday, 12 March 2009. Elective: Recycling and sustainability. I've been in an extremely contemplative mood the past few days, I've spent a lot. Of time reading, and thinking about life in general. I went to borders the other day and totally on a whim, which I am thoroughly. Regretting now, bought a book for £20 about sustainable design. Really useful though as far as expanding my knowledge of the various materials and designers. There are out there. At tonight, it's. Moving on, there's. Stay away from...
