I never got the memo. April 20, 2010. Putting together the ideas for my Quick box was mostly a matter of picking out the elements I thought contributed to the Quickness of the piece. Like Calvino, I was struck with emotion and a strong connection to certain glimpses of the inspirational piece, in this case, Howl. It was difficult to find a way to visualize the quick pacing of the poems in Howl. Acts as the pulse that drives all of the poems, bringing them together. Much of Howl. April 20, 2010. And many ...

I never got the memo. Recently, I’ve been neck-deep in paper writing. Papers analyzing poetry, papers on Chinese history and gender studies, papers, papers, papers. Having finally slogged through all of those papers, I got to the blog project. I started writing my posts. Now, I don’t know if it was the influence of Howl and Other Poems. Ever get to merging my traditional print lit experience with the ever changing world of technology. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

An Initial Acquaintance with this New Art Form, by Rodney Taber. I was very surprised that the images and ideas this project evoked within me were not what I had predicted when initially thinking of what my aesthetic might be. However, this process has elicited imagery and ideas that really are natural to my aesthetic. This has been a process of self-discovery. My aesthetic would include my favorite (or one of) image, and my favorite (or one of) quote:. Really elicits a lot of my own love of life for me.

An Initial Acquaintance with this New Art Form, by Rodney Taber. First “Blox” – Lightness. Second “Blox” – Excatitude. Third “Blox” – Multiplicity. Fourth “Blox” – Visibility. Fifth “Blox” – Quickness. April 21, 2010 at 1:13 pm. In my fourth blox for visibility, my wife thought those were sanitation discs! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. An Initial Acquaintance with this New Art Form, by Rodney Taber. My chosen ‘tutor text’ for the second part of this project – after some deliberation – is “Shanken’s Cigar Handbook” by Marvin R. Shanken. The floodgates then opened. I subscribed to Cigar Aficionado (published by Marvin Shanken) which is actually not just about cigars but about the good life, primarily for men. I also used to read GQ years ago and the articles in Playboy. My capacity to be affected is happily heightened with just the thoug...

An Initial Acquaintance with this New Art Form, by Rodney Taber. Experience of Calvino’s Quickness in Shanken’s Handbook. April 19, 2010. Each paragraph, light and multiple, moves with QUICKNESS by ways of approachable lexicon, author’s discourse, and most of all – the hallmark of good writing – a happy interest by the reader as to what comes next! Because I love the subject and want to know more, and because Shanken’s writing is filled with quick and varied visual anecdotes that are all. Part 2 - Quick.

An Initial Acquaintance with this New Art Form, by Rodney Taber. Compare/contrast the experience of learning enabled by the learning screen, as distinct from the research paper. The Learning Screen was an immersive educational experience, makes use of modern electronic communication and thus also an immediate educational experience. It was also a terrifically collaborative experience, yet with plenty of freedom for individual work and expression – in fact in some ways more. Learning Screen as a term woul...
