Monday, 21 September 2015. NASTY PARTY STRIKES AGAIN. Here we go again. The Tories have managed to spend the last five years rewriting history concerning the economy, successfully as it turned out. A Political View: January 2012

http://liamstubbs.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 31 January 2012. Government by the wealthy, for the wealthy. If anyone had doubts as to where the Cameron government’s sympathy lay, the events of the last few days amply demonstrate that this is government for the few, not the many. The row over bonuses in the banking sector saw battle lines clearly drawn: the public on one side, annoyed that they see living standards falling while the industry responsible for many current problems continues to over-reward poor performance. I can just imagine it.

A Political View: August 2011

http://liamstubbs.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Monday, 15 August 2011. All Of Society Should Feel Disturbed. There's been an awful lot of rubbish spouted about the disturbances in English cities over the last week. It appears that, if you want to make your voice heard, you simply add the word 'riot' to the views you have been espousing in order to reinforce your point and make it contemporary. A Political View: November 2011

http://liamstubbs.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 29 November 2011. Praise and rewards for those who deserve it. It’s around three years since David Cameron first used the phrase ‘Big Society’. Indeed, Conservative M.P. Jesse Norman had earlier written a book on the subject. It was mentioned in the last Tory election manifesto, has been heralded in various speeches and has been talked about almost as often as the economy or spending cuts. Amazing, then, that we still have no idea what the Tories mean when they mention it. Rather than stepping i...

A Political View: March 2012

http://liamstubbs.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, 31 March 2012. I'm standing - and standing up for Monmouthshire. Regular readers may note something new at the bottom of this page. It's known as an 'imprint' and it's a legal requirement for all election candidates to carry. Everything I write and distribute between now and May 3rd is technically published and promoted by my electoral agent, Gwyneth Marsden. If I don't carry the imprint, one or both of us could end up in prison! Well, we can make a start by letting them use the council website...
