June 2014 – That We Might Have Joy

That We Might Have Joy. The Adventures of ASLP&A. Father’s Day Musings. June 16, 2014. June 11, 2015. I was asked to speak at church on Father’s Day–on the topic of righteous fatherhood. The following is the bulk of my remarks. I’ve given a lot of talks in the church but this was one of the most daunting speaking assignments I can remember. Fatherhood is an important topic. The following is a brief list of key ideas I’ve gained through study and observation:. Sister Elaine Dalton explained that a good fa...

The Dibb Family: Mother's Day with the Sister Missionaries
http://dibbfamily.blogspot.com/2015/05/mothers-day-with-sister-missionaries.html
Monday, May 18, 2015. Mother's Day with the Sister Missionaries. Mother's day with the sister Missionaries. Yesterday was Mother's Day and it was great. Russell was really sweet and really did that all one man could do. The most important and best part was that I slept in until 9:40 am Granted I went to bed at 1 am, but I was on Utah time. Getting enough sleep made everything 100 times better! It was a sad moment. Even in this small house, there are moments where you just don't keep track of everyone.

In Defense of Shoes – That We Might Have Joy

That We Might Have Joy. The Adventures of ASLP&A. In Defense of Shoes. July 24, 2015. July 24, 2015. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened in on the following conversation:. 8220;Can you believe those jerks who come to my house and want to keep their shoes on? 8220;Yeah, those people are so rude.”. 8220;Someone in my family has a weakened immune system.” Fair enough. In this case, warn me before I come over. For one thing, I might be sick. For another, I can prepare and wear...I just know I’...

Welcome Baby Arthur – That We Might Have Joy
https://asladventures.wordpress.com/2015/03/19/welcome-baby-arthur
That We Might Have Joy. The Adventures of ASLP&A. March 19, 2015. June 11, 2015. I don’t think anyone has actually called him “Arthur” yet–it seems to always be “Baby Arthur.” Lily and Penelope have been smitten with him from first glance. We actually have a hard time convincing them that he occasionally needs to be left alone to sleep. So far they are thrilled to help with getting diapers and such–hope it lasts! Ust imagine a headboard. And a lot more clutter. Life with Three: The Schedule. Sorry, your ...

That We Might Have Joy. The Adventures of ASLP&A. Life with Three: The Schedule. May 22, 2015. June 11, 2015. Most people who know me probably know that I am pretty organized and incredibly driven to accomplish things! One of the hardest adjustments for me both with pregnancy and with a new baby is accepting that I won’t be able to do as much–to a point. I was re-reminded just after Arthur was born that I thrive on a pretty specific schedule (as do the kids). My method for creating a schedule is:. 3 Real...

The Dibb Family: Wayne's First Talk-we wrote it "together" of course
http://dibbfamily.blogspot.com/2015/08/waynes-first-talk-we-wrote-it-together.html
Sunday, August 9, 2015. Wayne's First Talk-we wrote it "together" of course. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He is the God of miracles. Are we allowed to take pictures? I don't know. But I did. There was a boatship with Jesus and his apostles. Jesus was sleeping while it was raining. There was a storm. The storm had lighting, rain, and waves. The apostles were sad and woke up Jesus to stop the storm. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our G...

January 2015 – That We Might Have Joy

That We Might Have Joy. The Adventures of ASLP&A. January 29, 2015. June 11, 2015. I’ve been meaning to write about this forever–Sunday night meetings with Austin. You could also call them family councils, but when we first started doing them we weren’t thinking about them in any kind of formal way. Rather, we were responding to a need. Our schedules were really chaotic and we needed to coordinate our budget more regularly. There’s a great article in the Ensign this month about family councils here.
