Librarian in a Candy Shop

Librarian in a Candy Shop. Sunday, March 29, 2015. Big Top Burning: The True Story of an Arsonist, a Missing Girl, and the Greatest Show on Earth. Laura A. Woollett. For Grades 5 - 8. The text structure of the book is hard to evaluate because I read an eBook ARC from NetGalley. From what I could see it looked slightly complex but nothing too difficult for the intended audience. The language features were moderately complex. This mostly pertains to the investigation aspects of the book. This event was cal...

Librarian in Black – Sarah Houghton

Librarian in Black Blog Sarah Houghton. Amazingly informed and therefore properly opinionated. February 6, 2018 Comments (2). Hey-o folks. I’ve been more incommunicado than usual, I know. I thought about home life, work life, and the intersection between the two. What is rewarding to me, and what is not? I’m not the...

librarianing | Answering the questions all librarians are asked: What does a librarian do? So you shelve books and stuff? You must be smart?

Answering the questions all librarians are asked: What does a librarian do? So you shelve books and stuff? You must be smart? The Spooky Stacks: Where the books, weirdos, and chickens live. June 29, 2011. I was prattling on about shifting congressional records at work when a friend said to me. I don’t want to sound like an idiot, but what are The Stacks? That’s where the books live-in the book stacks. It is the rows and rows of books that are arranged by call number. Sir, I am going to have to ask you to...

Librarian In Heels | Librarians aren’t supposed to wear heels…they make too much noise.

Librarians aren’t supposed to wear heels…they make too much noise. Applying the Coolidge Effect. July 17, 2008. I chose Animal Husbandry. What we ended up discussing was the neuroses of women who can’t really get on with life after being dismissed by someone they thought they were in love with, who they thought was in love with them. The premise of the boo...
