Library Pirates: April 2015
http://librarypirates.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Plundering the stacks for rare gold". Monday, April 27, 2015. I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios. Skylar's just graduated high school and she cannot wait to get out of the trailer park to start art school in San Francisco - just as soon as she can get her mom straightened out, sobered up, and jobbed. I really enjoyed this book, and despite the synopsis I've written here it's much more than a young-love story. The novel is mostly told from Skylar's point of view, but we get intermittent glimpses...
Library Pirates: June 2015
http://librarypirates.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Plundering the stacks for rare gold". Tuesday, June 30, 2015. This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. A week of sitting shiva for his deceased, lapsed-Jew father isn't what Judd Foxman wants to do right now. It's going to get ugly if the four grown Foxman siblings have to all live under the same roof for a full week. But there isn't really any choice. So maybe a week in his mom's basement might not be that bad. Es, and yet also dying to be something else altogether. Monday, June 29, 2015. Kristin'...
Library Pirates: August 2015
http://librarypirates.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Plundering the stacks for rare gold". Monday, August 24, 2015. Thank You, Goodnight by Andy Abramowitz. After the 90s band Tremble's one-hit-wonder career, the band members all drifted into boring normal lives. But when Teddy Tremble finds he's the object of ridicule in a photo displayed at the Tate Museum, his long-forgotten creative juices begin flowing anew and he decides it's time to get the band back together. It may be a midlife crisis - but does that mean it can't also be a good thing? This could ...
Library Pirates: November 2014
http://librarypirates.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Plundering the stacks for rare gold". Sunday, November 30, 2014. Tunnel Vision by Aric Davis. Under the ruse of a research paper, two high school girls investigate a 15-year-old murder case after they discover the victim was one girl's drug-addicted aunt. They get help when their paths intersect with kid-detective (now teen detective) Nickel. Sorry - that's a lame plot summary, but I don't want to give too much away. I adored the first Nickel book ( Nickle Plated. Thursday, November 27, 2014. Book of the...

Plundering the stacks for rare gold". Tuesday, January 25, 2011. A Pet for Petunia. Something about the cover of this book drew me in. I had to read it before leaving the library the day it arrived even though I already had my coat on. Within two pages, I found someone who would listen as I transformed into performance mode. I hadn’t heard of Twigger Warnings before the other day but it seems like a hot topic today.
