The members of NEOBA have established a connection with the Kasese Beekeeping Project in Uganda through an organization called LIDEFO (Libery Development Foundation). The broader goal of LIDEFO is “a multi-skilled society with the ability to engender development,” and they offer training and education on beekeeping to help improve living standards and strengthen communities. All produce honey, some may also have pollen, propolis or wax. Pollen is typically harvested in the spring and honey in the summer. Most of them should have honey supplies into the fall. Northeast Oklahoma Beekeepers Association. First Lessons In Beekeeping. NEOBA hosts a series of beginning beekeeping classes every year during the fall and winter months in order to educate those in our community who would like to become beekeepers. You will learn in-depth knowledge and skills to be successful for your first year of beekeeping and beyond. The classes end with a hive construction day with help from seasoned NEOBA members. The cost is $75.00 for an individual. You will receive the book.
