Desiring Enlightement vs Not Desiring Enlightement. September 30th, 2010. The point has been made that letting go of desire in order to reach enlightenment includes letting go the desire to attain enlightenment. I have also found the metaphor* that 'one should desire enlightenment like a drowning man desires air.' *(possibly attributed to Buddha himself? I'll add a source if I find one). I think with this we are possibly witnessing separation from and ultimate destruction of the ego, as.well, desired.

My fibro started after a bad reaction to prednisone. Unfortunately, I had to move. I have spent 4 years and six or seven doctors getting progressively worse being told alternately to either see a psychiatrist or that I'm a drug seeker. (thats funny, ALL my files from Indiana I was labeled as DRUG AVOIDANT.). I FINALLY saw an endo a week or so ago. I have a badly screwed up thyroid, and most likely, adrenal failure or fatigue. Hunters and Collectors - Holy Grail. Boredom gives way to Depression? Thinking about things too much is irritating me to the point where I just want to go surfing and be eaten by a large shark.
