Thursday, October 30, 2008. On Monday, we had Wendy take our family pictures at Gardner Village. I wanted them done before my braces get put on the next day. The kids were pills and uncooperative. I think Ashlee is the only one that would do anything. Katelynn. Wouldn't even smile. But thanks to cousin Stacey, she saved the day! Her family were getting their pictures done by someone at the same time. They were done and we wanted to get one more setting. She helped entertain. Posted by 7 hardts of gold.

Lately I have been snagged by memories, some sad, some exciting and scary, as if I am in a geological outcropping of intense recollection. They interrupt my days, they sideswipe my tracking of current events. Some of them I have not thought of in years, and now they come in flocks. I turn each one over in my mind's eye, trying to see an alternate point of view. I kept it secret, and when I thought of it, there was a strange feeling of shame.

Monday, March 21, 2011. I went to a wedding. And took pictures of everyone except the newlyweds! At the request of the bride, every single person at the wedding party was wearing pink. Saturday, October 23, 2010. Sushi in St. Pete. In the last few years sushi has become a BIG DEAL in St. Pete. Every third restaurant is a sushi restaurant. That's not an exaggeration. From my first bite I was hooked. I thought it was one of the best things I'd ever tasted. I was completely in shock. The day after I had my first sushi roll in St. Pete all I wanted to eat was more sushi. Thankfully, everybody here is more than happy to tag along when someone has a sushi craving. I also teach the main financial director of the sea port. (St. Pete is a HUGE port city, by the way.). A managing director of Baltika, the largest beer manufacturing company in Russia. The director of a company which transports large amounts of radioactive materials (uranium) throughout the world. I also teach his wife.
