Sunday, April 8, 2012. Spring Break Ski Trip. Over spring break, Jackson, Maggie, and I, Chad and Robin, my mom, and the Stary family, went to Ruidoso snow skiing! We left EC at 5am on Wednesday morning and arrived in Ruidoso at 3:30 their time-they are an hour behind us. On the way there, the girls rode in one car while the boys rode in the other. Last week Maggie and I went to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo-Poultry Show to watch Layton and Clay show their turkeys. * *For those of you that do not know, Layton won Grand Champion Turkey and Clay won Reserved Grand Champion turkey at the San Antonio show a few weeks ago.*. Monday, July 9, 2012. Last Monday evening, the Starys, Pfeffers, Prochaskas, and us headed to spend the night in Houston so we could catch our flight to Cozumel Tuesday morning. Life at the Lodge. Straight from Parkway Kennels. December 2, 2015. I don’t mean Buddha in religious terms, but in dog terms. Meet Buddha, a regular at Parkway Pet Lodge. He’s a Pit Bull Terrier by breed, but a giant teddy bear by personality. Every day, employees like me give ten to fifteen minute playtimes to each dog at the lodge, and Buddha happens to be one of my favorite dogs to have playtime with. Why, you ask? 8230;He makes funny faces! I think his smile is contagious. I hope you think so, too.

Bacon, Quinoa and Kale Stuffed Acorn Squash. 1 large butternut squash. 1-2 teaspoons olive oil. 12oz of thick cut bacon, cut into small pieces. 2-3 cups loosely packed kale, chopped small. 2 cups cooked red quinoa. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. 1/2 pound extra sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded. 1-2 teaspoons dried thyme.
