Lifeboat Scrapbook: Practice makes perfect...
http://lifeboatscrapbook.blogspot.com/2012/04/practice-makes-perfect.html
A scrapbook of the lifeboat year in Swanage as it appears to me: the characters, the boats, the shouts, training, thoughts and fun. Wednesday, 11 April 2012. So, while both boats are away at sea, those remaining behind work through a variety of training scenarios. Tonight this includes a fair amount of practise with the heaving line (trying to hit a bucket). Well done to Roydon who is the only one to manage so far! Wednesday, April 11, 2012. With one hand on the Tiller, Marcel has everything within reach, exercising with him on his yacht tonight, I was hugely impressed by the level of thought that had gone into creating a practical single-hander. Life at the end of the road. August 31, 2015. Everyone should have one :-). 8212; lifeattheendoftheroad @ 10:32 pm. One was needing help with an inverter and one was after bread. After depositing son and beetle man on ferry it was back up the road to feed the pigs,. Put another coat of paint on the rear cross member. When Lachie arrived with a pallet of Spanish slates for the ‘Bunker’ I pressed him into rescuing the Quadzilla. I really must get one of these, every croft should have one. August 30, 2015.

Monday, 5 October 2009. Mike Streeter took these photos while on holiday in Cornwall. Has a D Class, launched by quad. As you can see from one of the shots there is not a lot of water in the harbour at low tide, quite a long tow to launch. The harbour is used as a car park at low water! A Year in Swanage: 20/06/10 - 27/06/10
http://ayearinswanage-martin.blogspot.com/2010_06_20_archive.html
Tuesday, 22 June 2010. Round the Island Race. Up at 0400 hrs to travel down from the "Folly" for the start at 0510, I was grateful to be in an early start as there are far less boats on the start line. Once again it was a great spectacle, clear sky's, a light wind to begin with and 100's and 100's of yachts, all seemingly wanting to be in the same bit of water you are in . You have to be very focused at this point, with eyes in the back of your head and a crew you're very confident with. This lasted us t...

Friday, 6 July 2012. Too much then too little. Hey Ho Yesterdays race abandoned again, this time No Wind. Graham and Wendy visiting on holiday from their Holiday. Last chance to get everything sorted out for the Atlantic crossing in November. Sunday, 1 July 2012. In the last 10 days we have had 3 races abandoned or cut short through too much wind. Everyone wants to get on the water but we are braving bigger winds than we would normally because we have missed so many races to the weather. Life on the list.
