Experiencing Life and Death. Yet, as with so many things in life, I am finding that the kids are showing me the way and also providing me with the comfort I need to deal with my grief. Similarly, as the boys perform their daily chores, they realize that by feeding the chickens and rabbits and helping them to grow today they are helping to put eggs and meat on the table tomorrow. It’s a cycle of life that is more natural than we might be led to believe if we were not raised on a farm or around animals.

Thursday, January 30, 2014. A Break From the Norm. We were blessed to get to go to Turkey for 10 days, just a little over two weeks ago now. Here are some pictures from our time there. We're better than T.V. Thursday, July 17, 2014. I dropped my daughter off at summer camp this morning. It's only a day camp. I wasn't ready to admit that she's big enough to do sleep away camp. It's the next best thing, though. It starts before breakfast and ends after dinner. So dropping Tater Tot off at camp was a trifle nerve wracking for all of us. There were several factors stacked against us:. Hobbes stayed home. Hobbes goes everywhere. Besides, now I can take him with me. What a treat for me.
