Everyday Musings of Catholic Life. Writing Wednesday: Finding Purpose and Intent. Disclaimer* This was written on Wednesday, even though in was posted dangerously close to Thursday. Count it! Plus, he’s the king of lame jokes. I have no doubt that the people gathering tomorrow will hear plenty of lame jokes. Do not fear, they will laugh and I am always grateful when there are other people around to laugh so I don’t have to. (I’m joking. Sort of.). Photography Friday: Perfect Practice Subjects ». Everyday Musings of Catholic Life. It’s finally starting to click. I’m finally getting it! I mean really getting it! I know I have tons more to learn, but I actually understand what aperture is and how it affects the exposure. I still need to practice with it and figure out how to create the shots I want, but I’m getting it! I did a fun photo shoot of child #1 in her dress up box. I learned how to pull out the colors I wanted in Photoshop’s Camera Raw. I LOVE this photo. No better friend than your doll!

Everyday Musings of Catholic Life. Photo Friday on a Saturday. I realize I haven’t posted in a week or two. I have several posts in my head, they just haven’t quite made it to the computer screen. Mostly because I am OBSESSED with my new camera! That’s right, I finally was able to purchase the camera I have been saving up for for months! Many fantastic reviews and tips are shared by Ken Rockwell, a long time photographer. On the site he mentioned that Adorama. That has been teaching me about my camera, p...

It's the little things...: Daddy-O
http://theraefs.blogspot.com/2011/06/daddy-o.html
It's the little things. Sunday, June 19, 2011. Happy Father's Day to one heck of a man! Over the past 4 1/2 years, you have really gotten the hang of this daddy thing. I must say, you were a natural from the start, but every day that goes by, you seem to impress me more and more with your fathering ability. You are a fun dad! I am confident when I say, there is nothing you wouldn't do for these little ones to make them smile :). You are an amazing father! Happy Father's Day my love! Up-to-the-Minute Frid...

It's the little things. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. I'm sure there will be several more stories to come under this title. Gracie has really been getting into cutting with scissors. It's mostly paper, but I've been waiting for the day to come when she realizes scissors can cut more than just.paper. It was a Sunday afternoon and I had a few errands to run. I left Josh and the girls at home knowing they would have lots of fun father daughter bonding time. I got back home around 3:30 to find this. It has be...

http://theraefs.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
It's the little things. Thursday, March 31, 2011. This little guy did not want to give it up. He was hiding until the very last minutes of our sono. You can see his sweet little feet in the picture, and we were able to count all of his fingers. It's amazing to think something so tiny can be so incredibly perfect. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. I had been waiting for this moment for weeks! Here we are today at 17 weeks. Happy, healthy, and completely blessed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Arrows In Our Quiver.
It's the little things...: Today, I am thankful....
http://theraefs.blogspot.com/2011/06/today-i-am-thankful.html
It's the little things. Monday, June 6, 2011. Today, I am thankful. For my husband - the only man who can do his job and mine, all with a smile and never complain once. Five years ago, I knew I was marrying a good man, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I was marrying THIS good of a man. For my mom - a second mommy to my girls. She has such strong faith in God and is constantly positive about any situation. I am so humbled by all the people who are here for us. June 11, 2011 at 8:26 AM. Wish we...
It's the little things...: February 2011
http://theraefs.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
It's the little things. Thursday, February 10, 2011. The girls were so excited to get out in all that snow yesterday! I'm not sure how many inches we got here in Amarillo, but we had a six foot snow drift outside our bedroom window. The sun was shining and there was no wind. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun outside. We had a snow ball fight, made snow angels, and attempted to build a snow man, but the snow was too soft. 1 lg bowl full of snow. And we crushed up butterfingers and put it in ours.

http://theraefs.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
It's the little things. Thursday, November 18, 2010. The pile of pillows and blankets is what the girls call their mouse house. Not sure where the name came from, but it sure is cute to hear them talk about it and watch them work together to build it. Today they discovered they can do this. One moment they are on each others nerves, the next they are best buds. Always in a constant state of love. Only one word for it. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Can't wait to meet her, by the way) They asked Josh to be...

life in a nut-shell
Life in a nut-shell. Arguably, I see life from a less than 'typical'perspective. [Ok, ok.maybe I've heard the words "freakin nuts" tossed around before, but what do framed 'PhD Certificates' REALLY mean, anyway? But if laughter really DOES ‘worketh good like a medicine’ [and I believe it “do-eth”], then this is my [not so ‘daily’] daily dose. Holy hazelnuts! I’m comin’ outta my shell! Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Man-o-man I got mad last night. I'm so p-r-e-t-t-y], lol. In short."I'M" my problem. Anger can...

Life in a padded s(h)ell
Life in a padded s(h)ell. Welcome to my foray into the blogging world. I don't promise to be your source for political and social commentary, but I will always endeavour to be entertaining, charming and witty (and by witty, you may also want to read that as sarcastic . . . I sometimes mix the two up). I will try not to work Bruce Springsteen into everything I write, though it will be difficult as he does impact a large part of my waking world as well as a good portion of my dream world. I have "absolutel...
Life in a Palace
Life in a Palace. Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Three Little People that Make me Smile. There are Three Little People that make me smile everyday. I want to tell you a little about each one so you might get a small insight into these three Balinese people. Ketut is like most working class Balinese women, she has a child and a husband, she prepares their meals, mine and any other family who happen to be in my area of the puri. Ketut is average Balinese woman, it is commonly acknowledged that women run this isl...
