life in changchun: March 2012
http://lifeinchangchun.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Living the expat life in Changchun China. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. British authors and giving blood. So my son had any epiphany tonight. Dad: ‘How do you like The Fellowship of the Ring’? Also, there was a choice of how much blood I wanted to donate: 300, 400, or 500 ml. This is a bit intimidating. I’ve never been asked how much they could take before. They just take it. I think it’s a pint, but I’m not sure. How many ml is a pint? Are they gonna take my blood until I pass out? Thursday, March 15, 2012.

life in changchun: July 2011
http://lifeinchangchun.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Living the expat life in Changchun China. Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Biking in Inner Mongolia (this is a long one. Sorry). Day 2: We arrived Friday morning to a steady rain. We were staying in Yurts (little Tepee like buildings made of canvas and wood). They added plumbing so we could have a bathroom that kind of took away from the rustic feel the outside gave you, but it was still fun. How did that feel? 8217; He said ‘$15’. I didn’t say anything, I just handed him the money. We ended the day by heading bac...
life in changchun: February 2012

Living the expat life in Changchun China. Sunday, February 12, 2012. The overconfidence of youth. Be sure not to miss the Bulgarian in the background with the bottle of Rum in her hands. I've learned to never try to separate a Bulgarian from their alcohol. Or for that matter from someone else's alcohol that they have decided should be theirs. Or frankly from your alcohol that they are beginning to take a keen interest in. Better to just let it go. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The overconfidence of youth.
life in changchun: June 2011
http://lifeinchangchun.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Living the expat life in Changchun China. Sunday, June 26, 2011. First off, who ever thought having a wedding ceremony/reception at 9:30 am on a Sunday was a good idea? The whole thought of celebrating a wedding right after you rolled out of bed and got dressed just doesn’t work for me. The nice thing is you don’t blow a whole Saturday every time someone gets married. I was back in my bed at 11:30. 3.5 hours door to door. Finally, I was wondering before the wedding ceremony what the differences would be ...

Life in Central Queensland
Documenting the people, places and events of Central Queensland. Life in Central Queensland. About Life in Central Queensland. While driving through Mount Morgan, I spotted an orange ball of fur soaking up some morning rays out the corner of my eye. There were numerous sofa chairs in the front yard for the feline to sprawl out across, but for some reason it had chosen the stairs to take a cat nap on. The young girl next door heard the click of my shutter and poked her head out to see what was going on.

Livin Large in Chad
Livin Large in Chad. With the intention of stirring my life up a bit, I have moved out of my childhood home, taken a job as an English teacher, and relocated to warm and sunny Chad in Central Africa. I will be here for 27 months with the support of the Peace Corps. This is a space for me to share my experiences with any who are interested. I hope you'll check in now and again. Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Photo: The Peace Corps Chad evacuation class of 2006 in Yaounde, Cameroon). It’s strange to feel cold.

life in changchun
Living the expat life in Changchun China. Saturday, September 1, 2012. Another bike ride today. It’s starting to get dark earlier (6:30) so the ride got cut short a bit. Except the roads. I’m riding my bike on a road that has 4 major lanes going in each. Two other random thoughts this weekend:. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. I’m getting old. So I had a frightening realization tonight. I’ve become my parents. They were Dutch (still are actually) and they would never throw away a 'perfectly good' ½ bag o...

Life in Chapters | Fiction Imitating Art
September 6, 2015. Life in Chapters will eventually be an online novel or two. All the content is still in development. At the moment, I would classify every page here as a third-level draft. Each chapter has a story line, characters and some care as to how the content is presented. A fourth level would improve the context, transitions and backdrop. I’m not there yet. I hope this is a voyage of discovery for both author and reader. With any luck, the journey will be a pleasant one. Posts trapped in time.
