Life in La Unión: Gangs in the streets
http://www.lifeinlaunion.blogspot.com/2014/01/gangs-in-streets.html
Sunday, 26 January 2014. Gangs in the streets. Fifty three Spaniards and I were on a coach trip to Barranda from La Unión. Mari Carmen, the tour operator, addressed everyone she spoke to directly by first name including me. It was a little club. Microphone in hand Mari Carmen, explained about the Fiesta de las Cuadrillas. Explanation over the Mari Carmen asked if there were any questions. "Yes, where are we going to eat and what's on the menu? Fiesta de las Cuadrillas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Life in La Unión: I said, "Why did you cut off your ear Vince?" And he said,"What?"
http://www.lifeinlaunion.blogspot.com/2014/01/why-did-you-cut-off-your-ear-vince-what.html
Tuesday, 21 January 2014. I said, "Why did you cut off your ear Vince? And he said,"What? Maggie tells me I'm a bit deaf. She says I have the telly and the radio on too loud and that I don't understand her. Me, I didn't think there was a problem. Maybe I have problems understanding Spanish and I hope a bit of extra volume will help. In fact I like to use headphones or earphones when I can. The test was simply a range of beeps in each ear at different frequencies. "Perfect" she said. "For my age? Old La U...
Life in La Unión: Corruption
http://www.lifeinlaunion.blogspot.com/2014/02/corruption.html
Friday, 7 February 2014. Every month there is a survey about the things which most concern ordinary Spaniards. Recently corruption has been up there in the top three usually just behind unemployment. Over the past few years there have been several high profile corruption cases and, because the Spanish justice system still hasn't bought many computers and is notoriously slow, most of them are still current news stories. Anyway there are new scandals almost on a weekly basis. My take on this is that the lo...
Life in La Unión: In service
http://www.lifeinlaunion.blogspot.com/2014/01/in-service.html
Monday, 6 January 2014. It may well have been the Fat Duck but anyway it was a posh restaurant. A friend had been invited there. He said that the food was good but that the service was better - the waiters were at his elbow a second after he realised that he needed one. Labels: Briton in Spain. Life in La Union. Life in La Unión: Simply complicated
http://www.lifeinlaunion.blogspot.com/2014/05/simply-complicated.html
Friday, 2 May 2014. They really couldn't make it any easier. Name and address, delivery address, old passport number and not much else. That's done on-line, then you pay - just short of £103. Next you print out the form which tells you the documents you need to enclose, a couple of passport photos and away in the post. You wouldn't think that something as ordinary as envelope and passport photo size would have national characteristics would you but, apparently, they do. Labels: Briton in Spain. Cante de ...

Monday, February 28, 2011. Monday Magnets - OK vs. AR. Today's magnets represent a very big decision faced by The Lovely Princess (TLP). She has narrowed her college choices to Oklahoma Christian University, Edmond, OK and Harding University, Searcy, AR. This is quite a quandry for the girl who feels overwhelmed when forced to choose her own entree. I'll let you know if there are any changes. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Thursdays Thoughts - Guess the mood. You know what I like about middle school kids?

Monday, 30 June 2014. That's it. My teaching is over until September - provided some of my "clients" want me back. The phone and ADSL connection here are cancelled and could go off at any minute, the flat is basically clean but for one last hoover around and a quick mop and my landlady has given me an extension till half past one tomorrow when she will come for the keys. Thanks for reading. Hasta pronto. Thursday, 26 June 2014. And the address. The phone company would probably need that too. I kn...Altho...
Life in Laurnia – Words of Life
March 2, 2016. Heart Burn – Anger and Bitterness. Have you ever said or done something in that moment that you wish with all your heart you could go back and erase? I certainly have wanted to do that on many occasions. That type of anger is ‘thumos’, an intense expression of wrath that usually omes on quickly and dies just as quickly. That is not the type of anger that we will be discussing today. How do you keep production of the fruit of bitterness from defiling you and those around you? And I thought ...

They are the cutest little things i've ever seen. 6 males, 1 female. luckily, i reserved a spot for a little boy so it sounds like i have some options. here's their newborn photo :). I kind of already love the one in front - seems like he's just doing his own thing, leading the pack. but then how much do you love that one on the very end? Posted by Cassandra Eldridge. Much ...
