Life in the Slow Lane: July 2010

http://lifeintheslowlane22.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 18, 2010. Hanging In the Wind. Involved. I find myself weeping when I read the blog, not only for Claire but for the love the family has demonstrated to each other and quite pathetically on my part.how jealous I am of that support system. I believe God will provide what we need when we need it, but at the same time, the whole thing with the mayor really has upset me. It seems so unnecessary.where was her family? Then I think, where would my family be? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts ...

Life in the Slow Lane: Cold Shower Anyone?

http://lifeintheslowlane22.blogspot.com/2010/09/cold-shower-anyone.html

Thursday, September 16, 2010. Last week our hot water heater died. Luckily. It didn't explode or even leak, it just stopped producing hot water. So we bought another one and amazingly the hot water heater guy came the next day to install our brand spanking new source of non-cold water. He installed it in less than an hour and zippee. We were on our way to hot showers and clean dishes once again. But. Of the inspection but gosh, for those who work. May have to take a day off ( possibly. I am just one mom ...

Life in the Slow Lane: August 2009

http://lifeintheslowlane22.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 30, 2009. Will I be OK with a hot compress for days at a time? What if I make a fool out of myself during transition? What if transition lasts forever? I think some of this fear is based on having seen lots of births and knowing that birth doesn't always follow the route one expects it to take. Which is OK. Birth is normal and my body knows what to do because God designed it for this very task and God has chosen my baby's birth date. But still. So many buts. Weight gain: 27 pounds. If I ha...

Life in the Slow Lane: August 2010

http://lifeintheslowlane22.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 12, 2010. Summer is just flying by. Actually I find summer to be a strange mix of being really busy and being really boring. Maybe I am the only one who feels that way, but we either have a lot going on (vacation! Or a lot of hanging out in the house doing mundane stuff and trying to keep the kids from killing each other. Literally. Yesterday I had to call poison control because Wes fed. I could have done without. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Life in the Slow Lane.

The Sexism of Switzerland - Mom Edition. Since I have nothing better to think about when I am pushing the stroller through the grocery store, I've been thinking about how Swiss culture is structured and how that impacts moms who might want to work outside the home. Here are some random thoughts on the subject.

The day I was distracted at the grocery store. No, I did not lose a kid. So I call the husband to tell him, just in case he needed to pick up anything from the Migros City, which prompts the big girl to start in. Mama, I want a gipfeli (croissant). I want french toast for lunch tomorrow. Can I have some fruit.

Life in the slow lane

Life in the slow lane. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Dinosaurs and boys. Duh. Looks super cute and the minions may easily have been the best part of Despicable Me 2. Not my favorite story line to date…. It took me awhile to see the first one, and even then it took me a few times watching it to warm up to it. My expectations were too high for what I was seeing. Anywho…I think this one looks good too and the hubs liked the first one so it would be a good date movie. And I’m sold! Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

Life in the Slow Lane

Monday, December 27, 2010. Luckily we got it on video so I have been able to watch with mostly dry eyes since then. Otherwise the kiddos are energetic and my house is still always messy and loud. Reese (8) and Ashby (10) are both doing Scouts and choir and Reese is into soccer. His team, led by our very own Coach B, had a few wins in the spring and an actual winning season this fall. Ashby is a reading queen but has really gotten into cooking this year, a hobby I am definitely encouraging! I don't want t...

M.E. myself and I

ME myself and I. Living life in the slow lane with an invisible, chronic illness. About M.E. myself and I. Monday, 10 August 2015. The Most EPIC Adventure of Anna Jones. On Saturday I had my third wedding of the year and this was a big one for me. It required two nights in a hotel a couple of hours from home for a start! For a body that doesn't produce energy properly it did wonderfully well! I am so chuffed and proud of it for what it achieved and for how long and well it lasted. There were bits that re...
