I finally gave in and allowed him to have a suckie while playing, a rule a barely ever break. But I was exhausted and needed a happy child with guests. I was a gymnast when I was younger (and skinnier) and the key to the balance beam is to keep your center of gravity low. It’s hard to fall off if you stay calm and centered.
