That lightning bolt was mine: February 2009
http://lightningboltwasmine.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. Late Night , Goodbyes. I've watched Late Night with Conan O'Brien since I was a wee tween. Crude geeky adolescent humor? What's not to love? So I was quite sad to hear that Conan will be leaving New York for the West Coast. My biggest regret was not hauling ass over to Rockefeller Center for a live tapping. Lord knows I had the time to do it. Sadness. We will miss you Conan. Saturday, February 28, 2009. Friday, February 27, 2009. Never Just A Dream. Friday, February 27, 2009.

That lightning bolt was mine: Mouth Full of Attitude
http://lightningboltwasmine.blogspot.com/2009/01/mouth-full-of-attitude.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Mouth Full of Attitude. Surprise, surprise…! Apologies for neglecting this blog. I have a lot of projects and applications that I have been working on and should be working on, but of course right now I can’t pass up an opportunity to procrastinate. Music-wise, 2008 was a bit of a yawner. Only a couple of albums reached heavy rotation on my iPod, namely The Kills and Santogold. Crossing fingers 2009 will be a better year. That lightning bolt was mine: Like A Sleep Twitch

Saturday, December 5, 2009. Like A Sleep Twitch. So much has changed in this past year. I have been neglecting this blog more and more because I started graduate school and just haven't had the time to go to gigs or really even think about music very much. I won't be around very much, but you will continue to get the occasional post from me. Apologies. Here's what I will admit to however- big thumbs up to Lady Gaga and The Editors. That's the best you can come up with? Firstly, the video. Life as a house.

That lightning bolt was mine: Acts of Love
http://lightningboltwasmine.blogspot.com/2009/05/i-havent-been-to-show-in-so-long.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2009. In any case, it was sweet to see them sporting some new guitars, and playing songs off their new album, Devotion Implosion. Even after a minor snafu with broken guitar string, they rocked the house. 29 Acts of Love, Morning Light, and The Patrol are my favorite tracks. Shows at Union Hall, and Pianos to follow. I probably won't be able to make it but this is definitely a band you should see live if given the chance. Gliss- 29 Acts of Love. Tuesday, May 05, 2009. Spin me right round.

That lightning bolt was mine: Never Just A Dream
http://lightningboltwasmine.blogspot.com/2009/01/never-just-dream.html
Friday, February 27, 2009. Never Just A Dream. It was over 50 degrees in New York today! Also kind of scary since I swore I saw some snow flurries yesterday. (Damn you global warming.) Anyway, I digress. Emma Lee's voice has an old school quality to it, that I am ever so fond of these days. Close your eyes, and envision a smoky jazz bar, a whiskey, and a lone spotlight. Yeah, you know you're there. Check out her myspace for more songs. I also highly recommend "Isn't it Obvious." So great! I rock I roll.

That lightning bolt was mine: October 2008
http://lightningboltwasmine.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Nicole Atkins has got you covered. I totally forgot to put up these photos from All Points West. I mean, the whole event was kind of meh, but Nicole Atkins really rocked the joint I think. Who knew she was going to ham (and egg) it up too. She’s got a new EP out, aptly named, “Nicole Atkins’ Digs Other People’s Songs,” including covers of Mama Cass, Nada Surf, and The Church. Available via digital download ( Amazon. Nicole Atkins- Under The Milky Way (The Church cover). My favo...
