Ramblings of a Stay-at-Home-Mom: Water feature
http://lifeisgood-mostly.blogspot.com/2006/10/water-feature.html
Ramblings of a Stay-at-Home-Mom. Adventures in child-rearing, weight losing, and house building! And a few rambling posts here and there. Friday, October 06, 2006. We have a new water feature in our master bathroom. It's flowing from the tub spout. And we can't turn it off. The cold water valve is stuck open. Isn't that lovely? We called our landlord at 7:10 this morning. He lives in California, so I guess that would make it 5:10 AM for him? Sometimes renting is better! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Okay, so the animal control guy came.and asked to see my proof of rabies vaccination for the dogs.which I couldn't find. They are current on their shots, but I couldn't find the paperwork. So, the animal control officer came to my door, told me that he was going to go get the skunk, and could he have a plastic bag. Are you kidding? So by thi...

Ramblings of a Stay-at-Home-Mom. Adventures in child-rearing, weight losing, and house building! And a few rambling posts here and there. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Ahhhthe beach. Beautiful sand, crashing waves, relaxed atmosphere.and quarreling, picking, bickering in-laws. I think Paul wakes up most nights, plays with some of the toys in his crib, and then goes back to sleep. Well, when he woke up in the hotel, in the pack and play, right next to us in the bed, he thought it was great! I, on the other...

Anything with Cheese: Aqua “What’s So Great?” Relle
http://anythingwithcheese.blogspot.com/2006/07/aqua-whats-so-great-relle.html
A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." - Thomas Keller. Sunday, July 09, 2006. Aqua “What’s So Great? Last night my family gathered at Aquarelle. To celebrate my sister R’s 20th birthday. Everyone in Austin thinks Aquarelle is the rage. Apparently people give their first born to either work there or get a prime time reservation. Given my affinity for food and R’s new passion for vegetarian food, it seemed like a stellar restaurant pick. Let me break it down for you:.

Anything with Cheese: February 2006
http://anythingwithcheese.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." - Thomas Keller. Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Scallops, or is it Stingray? Today I learned that often times some food suppliers pass off stingray meat for scallops. One way to know if you are getting what you pay for is to look at the grain. A true scallop will have a vertical grain and a substitute will have a horizontal grain. Something to think about next time you slice into this delicious shellfish. Cyanide Tea, Anyone? 35 I've ea...

A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." - Thomas Keller. Thursday, November 16, 2006. It appears that I have been MIA for quite some time, so I’ll give everyone a quick recap of the last six weeks:. I am officially done with another class – baking. During baking, I learned to make all sorts of stuff – breads, cakes, pies, cookies, tarts, sculpted sugar and so much more. I burned the skin off of the tips of my fingers while learning to temper chocolate. I'm a culinary stude...

A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." - Thomas Keller. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. I finally got my chef uniforms and toolkit today, and I begin my first lab class the week after next. I can't wait to finally get in the kitchen! I'm so proud of the obscene amount of money that I just spent of this stuff, I had to take pictures. I'm even sitting in my uniform right now. I probably need professional counseling or something. That’s right, I’m the proud owner of a new 2007 Toyota Camry XLE. It’s my second Camry and fourth Toyota ( see requirement number 20. And it has absolutely nothing to do with food. A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." - Thomas Keller. Monday, July 24, 2006. 4 Stars for Blue Star. Today I joined the fam for lunch at a relatively new Austin eatery, Blue Star Cafeteria. The décor is very inviting – retro chic, with an assortment of tables, booths and bar dining with a great view of the kitchen. There were fresh flowers on every table and the servers were courteous and prompt. Next time. Oh yes, there will be a next time. July 25, 2006 12:01 PM. I'm a...

Cook, eat, study, clean, grocery shop, see my friends, etc. I thought I was eating well, still protein first, and was tracking in my head. I thought I was getting about 100gms in a day. What was the busiest time in your life? How did you handle it? Maybe when I g...

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Summer Book Trek 2014. I can't believe that it's been a whole year since I posted here on this blog—and it was for last year's Summer Book Trek. I'm going to do it again this year. This time, I'll be on vacation for part of July which should give me lots of time to read by the pool. I hope. The Summer Book Trek Reading Challenge is hosted on New LDS Fiction. This year there are over 80 books being given away during July—and if you win you get to pick the one you want. If you go ...
