We all know that brussel sprouts are awesome for you. We all also know that they can, if not prepared with a little care and thought, be not so yummy. May 26, 2014. Update 7 – 20-Week Beyond 5-3-1. We have completed the 1st rotation in the 3rd 5-week portion of the 20-Week Beyond 5-3-1 program. Which puts us just over 1/2 way! In this rotation, on the primary lifts, we started with TM (training max) x Reps and then follow that with Joker Sets (continuing to add weight for singles), and then finally 5 sets of 3-5 @ 70-80% (depending on the lift). Here are our results on the TM x reps sets, as well as our best Joker Set:. Back Squat 305 x 5, 320 x 1.

May 12, 2014. Got some IronMind Tough-As-Nails Sandbags. Here are some pics from setting them up. For these first 3 bags we’re making, for filler we are using a material that we had made for Oktoberfest Obliteration 2 years ago. A local plastics company made a material for us that gave us a volume/density/weight ratio in between sand and beans. These first 3 bags will weigh 70lb, 90lb and 130lb. We’ll be getting the smaller IronMind Sandbags soon to make some lighter ones for the daughters.

In Virginia Beach, we have started a weekly program, Tuesdays @ Two, in the afternoon for older adults, though we’re letting people self-select to attend based on the time of day. Attendance fluctuates with the weather, but this week has been warm and we had 19 people. I took the opportunity to experiment. One inspiration was Gene Cohen’s.
