My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: June 2008
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Saturday, June 21, 2008. Think putting transit in your commute is hard? Try doing mine for a day. For me, my ride to work to school and work is a lot easier than driving. I can't say so much for my current commute. I was supposed to have a nice and easy summer. I got a temporary job at the EPA for the summer, and I was supposed to work that and go to school after, while taking the summer off from my current job. Trust me, this all sounds a lot worse on paper than it actually is,...

My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: My light rail train went backwards today
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2008/07/evidence-teeming-rt-light-rail-system.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Tuesday, July 1, 2008. My light rail train went backwards today. Evidence teeming: RT Light Rail system at limit. Before I get into my story, I'm going to cut straight to the chase on this one: RT's Light Rail system in its current state cannot support the number of new riders. Who knows. After another 2 or 3 minutes. The driver walked in the back car, got in the drivers seat, and closed the door. "what now? Posted by The Derek. Why we need transit. Subscribe to This Blog. STUB]...

My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: August 2008
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Wednesday, August 6, 2008. RT's service doesn't ALWAYS blow dolphins for nickels. It was about 3PM, my amtrak train had just arrived dowtown from Davis. It was my day off and man did I want to go home! After I got off the train, I saw the light rail train sitting at the station. I tried as hard as I could, but every time I tried to get around someone, somehow some old lady, or someone walking their bike got in my way. Of their drivers do. Posted by The Derek. My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: November 2007
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Friday, November 16, 2007. As much of an advocate for public transit I may be, I have never been a fan of my night ride home. Thursday's ride home has put me past the tipping point. You will not see my face on the light rail on Thursday night if I can do anything about it. The 30 minute lead time. I can handle that. The bad apples. I can handle them. The cold of night. I can handle that. However what I saw Thursday, I will not. As soon as I got off the train at 16. At one point ...

My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: January 2008
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Friday, January 25, 2008. So this is what I get for driving on a long trip. So i managed to put more than 2 thousand miles in a matter of a couple weeks during my trip. What do I get in return? So the lesson of the day: next time you whine about a train or bus breaking down, just remember: your car is just. To do the same ;). Posted by The Derek. Links to this post. Why we need transit. Thursday, January 24, 2008. Posted by The Derek. Links to this post. Sunday, January 13, 2008.

My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. The end of this blog? I recently read the proposed cutbacks RT is facing. My 'Not' so Ordinary Day: March 2009
http://notsoordinaryday.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
My 'Not' so Ordinary Day. Monday, March 23, 2009. What are they doing! So you need money RT? Our states budget woes are hitting them hard, but seriously they need to use common sense. Than they have been. (The train that arrives at 16th at 6:15 leaves 12th and I at 5:45). Whatever, I thought, I'll just leave at 5pm instead of 5:30pm next week. And that is what I did. Guess what: IT DIDNT MATTER. I REALLY felt like saying screw this, and calling someone to come get me, because this was not going to be good.
