Friendship, Wine and Laughter: June 2010
http://friendshipwineandlaughter.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Friendship, Wine and Laughter. The Best Things In Life Really Are Free (well, except for the wine). Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a patient person. I’ve adjusted the microwave setting so that my two-minute breakfast sandwich is done in a minute and 10 seconds. I’ve learned how to bake a 15-minute pizza in eight minutes, without burning it (okay, most. In the military ever works out according to the plans you make. Murphy’s Law at its absolute finest. As if the past s...

Friendship, Wine and Laughter: May 2010

Friendship, Wine and Laughter. The Best Things In Life Really Are Free (well, except for the wine). Monday, May 31, 2010. Not Just Another Weekend. Today is Memorial Day. It is a day of reflection, though its meaning has become more and more obscured by the excitement of a three-day weekend, and a break from work and our everyday routines. In Flanders fields the poppies blow. 8232;Between the crosses, row on row,
. That mark our place; and in the sky
. The larks, still bravely singing, fly

The Blogging Butterfields: October 2010
http://jjbutterfield.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. He's just SO darn cute! Halloween Pics, Part 1. Weds, we went to the library on Landstuhl for their story time, which was Halloween themed this week. The kids made ghosts, listened to Halloween stories, did the Monster Mash, and frosted cookies. On Thursday, the kids' school had their Halloween parties. We got to go into Emma's classroom and decorate cookies with her before the kids all had their costume parades. Harry's friends, Blake and Katelyn (twins! Emma was completely f...

The Blogging Butterfields: New Studio Equipment
http://jjbutterfield.blogspot.com/2012/02/new-studio-equipment.html
Wednesday, February 22, 2012. And bought a bunch of studio equipment. There's definitely a huge learning curve- lights especially are hard for me, I much prefer natural light! However, the kids have been great sports and have been letting me practice. Since I haven't posted lately (like, um, since October), I thought I'd share some of our practice shots. Sorry Dad, I know you wanted skating ones, those will come soon! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Promote Your Page Too. A Navy Family in Naples.

The Blogging Butterfields: Skating in Holland
http://jjbutterfield.blogspot.com/2012/02/skating-in-holland.html
Saturday, February 18, 2012. We headed out on another Goodwin/Butterfield Family Adventure last weekend! We heard rumours that the canals in Holland were frozen, so we verified, and immediately booked hotels and got in the car! Ever since reading Hans Brinker. With my dad as a kid, I've wanted to skate the canals. I finally got my chance, and it was AMAZING. Our incredible hotel- a former water tower turned into boutique hotel. We will definitely be going back here in the spring! View from our hotel room.

The Blogging Butterfields: June 2011
http://jjbutterfield.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 26, 2011. We found out last week that Jay got promoted! He will "pin on" for Lt. Colonel sometime next year, most likely in the spring. He and all the other Lt. Col selects from Ramstein threw a party at the O Club on Weds night. Our neighbor was nice enough to watch Harry and Ems so I could take John and have a nice time without chasing the kids around. Thanks Christy! We're SO very proud of Daddy and excited to see what changes this will bring to our lives! Thumbs up for Daddy! I headed ou...

The Blogging Butterfields: August 2010
http://jjbutterfield.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Paris, Part Deux. Okay, these are out of order, but whatever. I don't have the energy today to fix them! No matter how many times we correct her, Emma continues to call The Frog Princess, Tiana, by the wrong name. Whatever. She's happy, and she IS a frog for most of the movie, so I guess she has a point. And there really is not point in arguing with a 2 year old. At least this 2 year old! Riding Lancelot's Carousel- we were SOAKED by this point, but totally thrilled! The kids ri...
