The Melanson Family: Election Results
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/11/election-results.html
Here is the speech that he gave:. I’m glad to be able to talk to you today so you can vote for me for class representative. Why should you vote for me? I'm not sure where he got the "folks" part from. He was funny, because he first wrote "if I get elected" and then he said, "No, I should say WHEN.". I mean seriously, he brings his homework every Friday, why not vote for him? He made this awesome poster with these funny faces he is always drawing. Even dead guys vote for Luke"-Dead guy. John, Emma, Evelyn, Hyrum, and Rosemary. Thursday, June 17, 2010. Someone needs to teach me how to use my new camera. But maybe not right this second. In any case, here are a few mementos from the past week or two . . . June 4 - first picture with new camera. June 4 - past his bedtime. June 6, due date 1 day - boys are ready for church. June 9 - after 2 days in the hospital for me and 2 long playdates for Evelyn, everyone is home at last. June 16 - 7 pounds, 14 ounces! June 17 - Evelyn hard at work.

John, Emma, Evelyn, Hyrum, and Rosemary: The best-laid plans
http://johnandemmanyc.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-best-laid-plans.html
John, Emma, Evelyn, Hyrum, and Rosemary. Monday, October 22, 2012. It was January in New York. I had pneumonia. Plus, what are the odds of something like that ever really working out anyway, right? Nine months later (the length of a pregnancy, I might point out), I would like to officially announce that our family will be moving to Abu Dhabi- -where summer temperatures outpeform Houston by 10 or 15 degrees on average- -about 2 months after I have our third child. And a guest room! Will and Natalie Giddens.

God Made the Earth Round So We Could Not See Too Far Down The Road. Monday, November 19, 2012. James has had SO much fun in his "Kindergarten" class! This is his frog "crown" he made - around his head are pictures of the different life stages of a frog. He has had a blast learning about all science things. I'm pretty sure he loves it best. :). God Made the Earth Round So We Could Not See Too Far Down The Road. Thursday, November 22, 2012. Classic wit from Jane Monroe:. Jane - "Mom, James hurt me! Me - "Are you bleeding? Jane - "Yes.". Jane - "Right here. In my heart.". James - "Mom, look! I found a hot dog seed! Save it for me. I want to take it home.". Me - (looking at the sesame seed he pulled off his hot dog bun) "Why do you want to take it home? Me - "Alright.". And took off for an adventurous walk and some fun at the park. Her actual birt...

The Melanson Family: 03.12
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Elite 8 for the Radical Reading Rockstars. This is such a great group of girls. They worked hard reading and re-reading the books and spending lunch recesses preparing. Our school librarian really spent a lot of time helping them prepare. They set a school record for how far they got. As a side note, the school that barely beat them charges $30,000 a year for tuition. Way to represent public schools! Battle of the Books. Blue and Gold Dinner. We took a picture of Luke and used it for the display. I know ...

The Melanson Family: 1st Band Concert
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/1st-band-concert.html
Allie had her first band concert last night. It was incredible! This was the 6th grade band at her middle school. There are just under 400 kids in the band. The concert was in the gym and the band took up the whole basketball court. There are 9 French Horns. NINE! This is definitely one of the things we like most about Texas. Most of the kids just barely started learning their instruments at the end of August so I think the fact that they they could play anything was amazing. Kate likes to photobomb.
