Where is the boy…the boy I left in Tennessee? I know him…I know his name…I know his smell…. He is fun. He is wild. We walk. We swim. We ride in his truck. We look for “chicks”…. I am a “chick magnet”…so he says. When he gets home we will ride. We will take a nap. We will jog. We will look for chicks. We always look for chicks.

Licking lips, twitching legs.my ears perked in nervous expectation. I waited with intensitydreaming of the chase. Birds in the bush. Birds in flight. Birds sitting on my fence.
