http://lifeonorcasisland.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Life On Orcas Island. From the Heart of the Salish Sea. Wednesday, April 10, 2013. I Am Ready for Spring on Orcas! Outside my window the bright green madrona blossoms glow. Sometimes even in the dark of night they glow like coals in a fire, and in today's light rain, the red-gold bark and chartreuse flowers glow, emitting a peaceful energy. These holy trees, burial trees, these dancing maidens of the northwest glowing in my yard. I am ready for sun. I am ready for spring, I am ready. A few more scoops.

Life On Orcas Island. From the Heart of the Salish Sea. Saturday, November 21, 2009. All my life I dreamed of owning a wild horse. Growing up in Princeton, NJ made that seem pretty unlikey. Life On Orcas Island. From the Heart of the Salish Sea. Thursday, January 21, 2010. Christmas of 2008- Horses in the Snow. It's true, I lost Christmas this year. On my son's birthday, December 18, I got bucked off my sweet Black Elk. He bucked? I know this is not normal Black Elk behavior. Maybe he was feeling frisky, maybe my foot hitting the barrel we were going around scared him.maybe. well, I have had lots of time to speculate. I broke 5 ribs on the left side. Ohhh. not fun! A kind of companionship borne of many mornings together. But sometimes it's a pigeon, sometimes a crow. One time there was a heron. Why? I love to speculate. Maybe because humans rarely stay in one place doing something without making noise. Next time you say "Crickets.". Thanks to Bridgett for the link!
