There's a train museum out by the airport that we hope to visit, but this one was close by, near Tian'anmen Square at the Qianmen subway stop off line 2. We met up the the usuals: Ws, WIs, and Ss. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. My birthday, told by B in parts - Part 3. The kids were fine, so we left for lunch. Another bus ride (the third one of the weekend) and then Line 6 all the way across town to eat lunch at Home Plate Texas BBQ (Tuanjiehu, Line 10). The only disappointment of the weekend: ¥20 for a 12-ounce can of A&W Root Beer. But I like my wife and she likes root beer. The pulled pork was great, though. I was not trying to develop her taste for expensive transportation. She's my best friend!

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. My birthday, told by B in parts- Part 2. Then we walked to our hotel. We checked in to our hotel. I had spent a tiny bit more (seriously, it was a very marginal increase) for a room with the word "executive" in the description. It turned out to be way better. We got all kinds of preferential treatment. Our room was great, with a super nice bed, desk, sitting area, and shower. Manage to take my wife on a second. After Aunt H suggested it, we signed Buddy up for a Minecraft Homeschool summer camp that starts on Monday so he and I just spent the morning figuring out both Minecraft, the homeschool orientation assignment and our computers. Shichahai Station (line 8) exit A2 and explored together. Mrs. W has coupon books she bought, so each kid over 1.2 meters (everyone but Squirt) got in both towers for 15 yuan and the grown-ups got in for 17 yuan (10 yuan for the Drum Tower and 7 yuan for the Bell Tower).
