Life V 2.0. Chris Dumler should resign. You can totally teach 3.5yos about consent. →. March 11, 2013 · 3:17 PM. Is 3 too young to teach boys not to rape? I don’t think so. This is a quick hit, because lately all I can think is “ao@*&#dg;9760iuehTAE” when I sit down to write. I’m sure this deserves to be fleshed out. Last week Zerlina Maxwell. Went on the Hannity show. He’s being taught to ask his friends if they want hugs from him, and he’s being taught to respect it when they tell him, No. How to stop ...

Life V 2.0. BIAS: It’s not just a catch word. July 10, 2013 · 4:24 PM. I had an abortion*. I had an abortion. I’m not going to tell you how old I was when I had it. I’m not going to tell you what the circumstances around the pregnancy were. I’m not going to tell you whether birth control was used or not. I’m not going to tell you whether it was a wanted or an unwanted pregnancy. I’m not going to tell you if it was my only, or my fourth. I’m not going to tell you how far along the pregnancy was. Life V 2.0. You can totally teach 3.5yos about consent. I had an abortion* →. March 21, 2013 · 11:31 AM. BIAS: It’s not just a catch word. There’s this talk being held today, Must women lead differently than men? And I wanna talk a little about how this title frames the discussion and enforces status quo. Is male leadership the bar we should all reach for? According to this title, yes. What if we reframe the title and ask, Must men lead differently than women? Bias y’all, it’s a thing. Life V 2.0. Newer posts →. January 10, 2013 · 11:49 AM. Who doesn’t walk home on the train tracks at night? I was thinking about this last night on my way home from a meeting. Not the silly part about hurting yourself on a treadmill (although, Maude knows that seems to be true, too) but the part about how risk taking has changed for me over the years. What constitutes a risk has changed for me, not only as I’ve aged but since I had a child. Train tracks alone at 3am? Holy shit was I dumb.). I was looking...

Thursday, January 13, 2011. Working Hypothesis: Most alcoholics have two year olds. Has lost his will to live, for no other reason than the sun chose to rise again that morning. Things are pretty even, every kid eventually gets around to the Tantrum Stage in life. What does it matter. I will tell you what the hell it matters, people. Ever talked to a two year old? And then talked to a three year old? Yesterday was an epic day in Tantrumland. Epic, I tell you! 1 Inferior tv programming schedule. This part...

Friday, February 4, 2011. A smattering of pointless crap. Snow storms, pop-up warm patches of weather, family members in bad health, dogs who insist on pooping behind the couch no matter how many times you take them outside I AM TALKING TO YOU, ALICE, kids with head colds and green snot, kids getting shots at the doctor and screaming bloody murder, and, later today, more snow storms! A mermaid, both a fashionista. You just made me question everything I know about reality. You could just do us all a favor...

This Is What A Feminist Looks Like. Thursday, September 15, 2011. As Cool As I Am. Earlier this week I wrote a guest post for Be Cool Boys on being.well, what else? And you know what? I felt a little bit like a fraud. Oh, sure - I whole heartedly believe in what I wrote about.about how being "cool" is all about feeling confident in yourself and your choices. I continue to preach this message to EZ in the hopes that he'll internalize it and it will be come his. I remember having glasses and. I remember ro...

It's 52 degrees in Minneapolis. Here's where you're supposed to go for this story: Every little thing. I lived in WSP for almost 5 years and St. Paul is very different from Minneapolis. Its like the cities are sibling rivals and grew up just trying to spite each other with differences. The food differences crushed my soul while I was there, but my favorite restaurant ever is paradoxically on Grand Street in St. Paul, Mt Everest -its Nepalese and Tibetan. Ever had yak? October 15, 2012. Not For All the Tea in China. Posted by hughtube under Hugh. As Hugh edges up on four, his toddler-speak is disappearing. We relish the perfectly imperfect words and phrases that remain, smiling over his head and using them ourselves. We know they will soon disappear and one day, we’ll be listening to the surly language of a teenager asking us in whatever vogue slang of the day to quit being so emo. Here are a few Hugh-isms left that we refuse to correct:. 8221; (Backwards and forwards).

It's been flurrying for the last several days in Cookeville, where Maybelle and I are spending the remainder of our holiday vacation. Maybelle's a Charlestonian, so she's not that fond of snow. It's fairly cold, and it's not affiliated in any way with swimming, performing numbers from Oklahoma. Or eating yogurt- her favorite activities. But it's her first snow! I felt it was important to get her out in it- to force her to interact with it and acknowledge its existence. I'm drinking a cup of it right now.

Being the adventures of a thirty-something male as he embarks on fatherhood and a new life in the theatre. Friday, 13 August 2010. The thrill of the chase. So, the last post was a tad mooshy. So many things to do. It's a real ride. But actually, no. I have found it quite exciting (wait! The excitement comes from the p...

Things are looking UP! April 8, 2014. One reason films are popular is because images are so very powerful. The images we absorb we often retain and can embed their messages deep in our consciousness. That’s why movies are not only provocative but can be shaping, persuading how we think and feel about things and events. After viewing a movie. This IS the question that must be asked of the recent theatrical release of the film. What does this communicate about the film’s content? Part of the art of film ma...
