Friday, September 27, 2013. We needed a field trip this week after several days of staying home.so we headed to Suson Park! It was a perfect day to visit. There were only a few people there and the weather was beautiful, which means all the animals were out having a great time! Friday, September 27, 2013. Wednesday, September 18, 2013. In Leo's "workbox" is a notebook with his name on it and his pencil box. I had no idea how much it would mean to him to have a notebook of his own! From time to time he will get his notebook and pencils and "write" on the pages. Usually he draws vertical lines that run from the bottom of the page all the way up to the top. It has been a week since our butterflies emerged and we have really enjoyed observing them! Each morning we feed them sugar water, pouring drops of it on fresh flowers and crumpled paper towels. As the days go by they get more active, and are starting to develop "personalities". The one with a tiny piece of wing missing is the most feisty, flying around enthusiastically and always looking for an opportunity to sneak out the top. They have really grown on me! Isabella and Leo have had great fun inventing things to do with empty water bottles. Drumming out rhythms on things is definitely the favorite so far! Silas almost always has a toy animal or a tractor in his hand. The Schleich animals (we spotted them at Target! Are so wonderful and Silas just loves them. On one of our lunchtime trips to the park to visit Papa during work, the kids discovered the peeling bark of a birch tree. It was an exciting discovery and Isabella began collecting pieces right away. Papa got to carry the princess. Leo found a tree that he was able to climb (a skill that he must be trying to master, because he is always on the lookout for climbable trees! Of course, big sisters cannot be outdone! Elsie doesn't care where we are. as long as she feels snuggly. We're glad you stopped by.

Isabella's request for her fifth birthday party was Hello Kitty! For the first time I was making party decorations with. The birthday kid instead of just for. Themand we had so much fun! We made a cupcake holder out of cardboard boxes wrapped in fabric, then printed cupcake toppers and an "Isabella" sign that we created on the computer. All our disposable plates, forks, etc were leftovers from other parties (I love putting someone else's extras to good use! What a fun day it turned out to be!
