Life with the Lockharts

Saturday, 13 March 2010. We are going on a . On Wednesday we made some bears. Gluing and sticking are always fun things to do. See that bear, the white one sitting on the table. I will tell you about him in a minute. On Wednesday we ate a bear! Took the grown ups a while to realise that it was time to get on with the cake thing. But I know how to do the big eyes. And then the big smile as lots of folks sang real loud to me! You see, on Wednesday, we went on a bear hunt! Can you spot the clue for our bear?

Life with the Lockharts: November 2009

http://lifewiththelockharts.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 18 November 2009. Finlay continues to make good progress. We are so encouraged by this. He has an ever increasing amount of words which he does put together very slowly into stilted sentences. He has loads of fun at nursery and has adjusted well to the physio session just before nursery in a Thursday, getting a lot out of it. We are in such a blessed position too, surrounded by many that care for us. Looking at our diaries this week we had realised yet again that both parents were busy wit...

Life with the Lockharts: September 2009

http://lifewiththelockharts.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, 27 September 2009. We met again with the consultant neurologist this week. It was helpful for us to ask some of the questions that we were unable to ask last time, so caught up in the emotion of what we had been hearing. In eight to twelve months he will have full neurological and IQ testing. This will determine his level of understanding and will help determine the best strategies to teach him all the different things he will be learning in life. And the rest of the family? I am always thinking ...

Life with the Lockharts: June 2009

http://lifewiththelockharts.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 30 June 2009. Our determined wee one. We got the results from the MRA today. The good news is that it did not give us any new information. The most significant damage is in the area of speech. We know this and are praying that therapy and God's healing touch will bring rewiring into the brain here. The surrounding areas which have been less affected we are already seeing the real progress in and look for more. Monday, 29 June 2009. We arrived at the hospital to discover that an MRA had been sche...

Tuesday, 15 December 2009. A time to rest. Our littlest needs time to rest too. After months of high level engagement in therapy with hardly a complaint he has downed tools, quite simply having had enough. And there is not one of us that does not understand that! Thank you for your continuing support and prayers. Over the next couple of weeks we are going to make changes to how we update this blog so here is hoping it can be a bit more often. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to our blog! A time to rest.

Life with the Lockharts: October 2009

http://lifewiththelockharts.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, 24 October 2009. New routines in the Lockhart household - again! Our holidays are well and truly over. We have been back to school and work and all our routines for a week now. Kirsty started back this week too and was blessed with a wonderful bunch of "Welcome back" flowers from all the staff and kids at Inchture. Hannah had her nails done and Kirsty had a massage and a facial. Fun all round! Friday, 2 October 2009. There is good progress. Our holidays have started! We followed that meeting by...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: Thanksgiving

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009/11/thanksgiving.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Wednesday, 25 November 2009. I truly have so much to be thankful for and I am truly sorry for the times I fret or downright stress over things that in the bigger scheme of things do not matter. Here are a few things I am thankful for. And each of these things could have a hundred or more bullet points. The more grateful I am the more I remember that so many are in need of help, support and prayer. There is so much I can be doing to be a blessing to others. Just to name a few.

Learning to be Maladjusted!: New Life

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2010/02/new-life.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Sunday, 21 February 2010. We can only live in winter for so long. We crave new life. Two weeks ago I had persuaded my mother and the littler boy to go and buy some plants from the local garden centre, a determined effort to fly the flag for spring. Yet days went by while we continued to live with the mess, not able to juggle our time to get a bag of compost and some time to do a little work. Until today! And yes, it is not just in our gardens! 21 February 2010 at 14:15. In thi...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: De-cluttering

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2010/08/de-cluttering.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Tuesday, 10 August 2010. It happens every year but most years I ignore it or our lives are too busy and well yeah, cluttered to do anything about it but not this year! 5 bags of stuff to the charity shop, a run to the tip and two full bins. Clear out. Clear out big time. It still looks as crazy and well. lived in as before. I have had at least three strops with the family about all that work and nothing to show for it. Learning to be Maladjusted!: Wind, rain and wasps.

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009/11/wind-rain-and-wasps.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Friday, 20 November 2009. Wind, rain and wasps. I do count myself as a bit of a recycler. I find that I cannot actually put things in the bin that I know I could recycle. At times I wish I could, to be honest because recycling can be a pest. A wooden box was decided on. All the bottles and cans and glasses were loaded up into laundry baskets and basins and off we headed. Sometimes doing the right thing takes a bit of doing! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Yep we have start...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: July 2009

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Sunday, 26 July 2009. For anyone who missed it, we are on a four week trip to the US catching up with family and friends over here, soaking up the culture and eating way too much. The little people are having a complete ball. They have swum in the sea, the pool or splashed in the paddling pool most days. They have been to the Laser Show at Stone Mountain, visited Chuckie. Cheese (aka by Grandaddy as " Chuckie. Cheese" and that will be his last visit - altho. He was messing aro...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: September 2009

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Wednesday, 30 September 2009. Creativity in the kitchen. We have been really excited with our grapes this year. Planted initially to hide an unattractive archway which leads into our back garden. It had been my intention to plant a clematis but oh no the other decision maker in this partnership was determined on grapes. I had been adamant that grapes would not grow this far north and yes, the photographic evidence is there to prove me wrong. Not one did he drop. We gently boil...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: December 2009

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Monday, 14 December 2009. There was a lot I could have blogged about over the last two weeks. We have the littler boy eating bits of carrots. He will not admit to it if you ask him. He is a wise one and will not want you to get in on the game. Tomato soup too is a recent addition to his diet. These probably do not sound dramatic things to you but in our house they are the cause for much celebration. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We think sometimes that poverty is only being hung...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: February 2009

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Saturday, 28 February 2009. Our progress so far! Check out what it looked like before. There is a photo at the end of this post. Those strange looking vegtables. Are our little people. How do you deal with all the dirty clothes that playing in the mud brings? Soap experiment may have been a disaster. That stuff came out watery and the most disgusting colour you can imagine, really pukey. Green so I am back to good ol. The map begs to differ, as does the climate. Ourselves to m...

Learning to be Maladjusted!: April 2009

http://learning2bmaladjusted.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Learning to be Maladjusted! Sunday, 26 April 2009. Our little girl and I have made the invitations to her party. If you do not have kids you will be blissfully unaware of the massive amount of pressure and junk that oh so quickly gets thrown into parties. Who to invite? How many to invite? Do I need to invite those who invited her? Where to have it? Yep and she is six, I am not organising her flippin. Bag which, at least, is useful but I am now wondering how many children were used to make the bag who wi...

Monday, May 20, 2013. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,. Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.". Wow that is so profoundly hard to do.). Links to this post. Monday, May 13, 2013. I'm home alone and it's dark. But not dark enough. Being alone lends itself to sleeping. Except when things are not dark enough. Life, with the Little Dude. That's me, Tyler Clay Herb, and these are my adventures. Friday, October 7, 2011. You could just tell that my relationship with the Brewers was going to be a charmed one when they won 20-0 on the day I was born. I mean, 20 to zero! That just doesn't happen. it was an omen. I'm a pretty big fan, but Daddy and Rico are even bigger. Alongside Momma and Gigi, the 5 of us took in do-or-die Game Five of the NLDS vs. the Diamondbacks. On to the NLCS! Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Life with the Little R's

Thursday, January 7, 2016. Whoops. Just noticed my last post was in September! I had started blogging a bit more back then but I started getting a lot of negative comments and honestly just didn't want to to deal with it at the time. I know that totally comes with the territory of posting anything publicly online but I just was not in the mood! But, I like blogging and enjoy personally going back and reading them so I am going to push through.at least for today, ha! I explained back in August in this post.

Life With The Lius

I called and hung up several times before my mom answered and then when she called back I just acted cool as a cucumber. I think I lost a little of my brain power that day (pretty sure I never got it back). My emotions were literally like a damn circus (firetrucking crazy). We took lots of pictures- here are a few of my favorites! Before the big cut! He thought it was the coolest thing! On August 7, 2015 Sutter J. turned 10-months-old! I'm always asking myself this, and sometimes it slips out and I ask others. I know, I know. once she starts I'll wish I'd had more crawling time, but still. When?
