BRITTON CURRENT EVENTS: June 2014
http://brittonsinuganda.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Ode to The Mango Tree. Our first year in Uganda was filled with new experiences. Learning to decipher “directions” was a biggie. In the village there are no street signs, no billboards, no large well-marked buildings. There are foot paths winding through the compounds of the various villagers’ abodes, cutting through gardens, reaching bore holes, connecting one clan to another. And of square importance is the mango tree.

BRITTON CURRENT EVENTS: October 2014

Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Saturday, October 25, 2014. To the Village and Beyond . . . When he told her to swallow her antibiotic, she explained she would wait until she ate. Not falling for her tricks, and knowing that she wouldn’t be eating for another 2 hours, he gave her the medicine and stood over her until she swallowed. Jaaja in her kitchen. Physically I was still trodding along the footpath in Wakayamba, but my mind was beyond the village. The ping pong I enter...

http://brittonsinuganda.blogspot.com/2015/05/this-definitely-qualifies.html
Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Friday, May 15, 2015. Ever had a situation so unusual you don't know how to label it? Pretty much sums up the culmination of events experienced this morning! Mine started with a poor decision- but I had no way of knowing how very poor it was . . . We have been away at Musana Camps this week. We returned yesterday afternoon. Suitcases and backpacks were unpacked and contents completely filled the laundry baskets to overflowing. I had some money in...

Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Monday, May 26, 2014. The Other Side of "Peachy Keen". A few months ago I received the following sentiment tucked in an email from a long-time friend:. Hope you are doing as well as the newsletters sound. I assured her that life was as peachy-keen as the newsletters sounded- they don’t lie. We love what we do and are thankful and happy for the life we live in Uganda. Here’s how it went down. One of which I did not. Not a happy situation. Late fee...

BRITTON CURRENT EVENTS: February 2015
http://brittonsinuganda.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Saturday, February 28, 2015. I was recently reading John 20 where Jesus talks to the disciples after appearing to their company of hiders for fear of the Jews. They have bona fide fear- the Jews killed their leader and Lord and they had to wonder if they were going to be next. Mixed up with fear must have been hatred, anger and desire for revenge. He continues, "As the father has sent me so I am sending you," and he breathed on them. This word, f...

We loaded the vehicles, a 35 passenger coaster and an additional car to carry luggage, food, tools and a few people and began our journey at 6am on Sunday. Our destination, the village of Midigo in the district of Yumbe which is in what they call West Nile. 39 of us in total ranging from the age of 13 to me as the oldest, shocking, I know :-). She and her h...

BRITTON CURRENT EVENTS: December 2014
http://brittonsinuganda.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Too occupied for words. First we have a photo from the final few days before we left for Musana Camps. Geoff was heavily involved with the EYO Youth Camp and is seen here complying with photo scavenger hunt requests from Nabukeera and Toby's group. One of our favorite sites along the road to Musana- the "veranda truck" as we call it. How it got there or why is the great mystery! Kara and Acacia's sand castle creation.

BRITTON CURRENT EVENTS: July 2015
http://brittonsinuganda.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Experience Uganda as God works in us, and New Hope Uganda. Thursday, July 30, 2015. I believe the word tends to be overused. Catch-all, smooth-sounding, alluring in a way. But, overused. Of late, I must admit I've succumbed. Can't help it. I'm contemplative. Or maybe, forget all that. Maybe it's just the prednisone burst I'm on right now for the big ol' backside pain that has been ailin' me since early June. Makes me verbose of mouth and mind. And what is that? Thankful for the friends whose house I've j...
