Running out of poverty. Mwingi District is a very dry area in Kenya, nearby the equator. Rain season is in spring and autumn. In that period of the year people has to collect as many water as possible. This water has to be boiled before they can use it as drinking water. Other use of this water is cleaning the clothes. Solar project | Lighten Their Future

Running out of poverty. 1 Solar panel is able to lighten 2 classrooms, the room of the headteacher and the entry of the school. The panels come from Nairobi and are fixed by local engineers. The sun fills the battery and after the sun is gone, children can still be at school to study more for their exams. The solar not only provides light, but is also used by a local barber and as a charger for the mobilephones. Offcourse not for free, but a little fee, so the children will benefit some extra.
