DIY Insanity: November 2012
http://diyinsanity.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Is it nuts to design, permit and build an addition to your house by yourself? Monday, November 05, 2012. Taphophile Tragics: Kaua'i Cemeteries. One of the things I write about on my Oakland blog. Is history. And one way to learn about history is by studying cemeteries. Where you can learn about all sorts of people who made and lived history. K and I recently took a trip to Kauai for a family reunion for my parents' 50th anniversary, so I have some non-Oakland posts to write about. Sleep on the Hearth.

I still need to add more spindles to the railings, and some more lighting, but the stairs and railings are there. And runs Ghost Town Farm. I've also found inspiration from City Homestead. But the real inspiration of where to head is from Root Simple. For me, it's not about sav...

Daily photo project by Linda Heinsohn. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Mercury Gas Door Detail. Classic car on the street. I'm guessing a 50s era Mercury sedan. Interesting gas door detail. I'm rusty on post processing. (Was it ever a strength? So, somehow I ended up with details of the reflections in the body color standing out more than I intended. Oh well. Try again tomorrow. Daily photo project by Linda Heinsohn. Thursday, February 28, 2013. On our daily dog walking route, Maggie and I are likely to pass this 60s-something Studebaker Lark Cruiser. It's not mint condition, but still very nice and comes complete with hanging fuzzy dice. On a somewhat sunny day, I took a shot of the rear V8 emblem and just now paired it with a Lomo layer in Photoforge 2 and then a Clouds layer in Phototoaster. Do I need a starburst on the hotspot? HmmmI bet there's an app for that. Very weird, ...

Daily photo project by Linda Heinsohn. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Alphabet Bar And Reflection. Working with an image as in Photoshop, I think. In the end, I settled on a black and white image to make it more silhouette-y. Then I added a "moonglow" layer and a grain layer to make the glass brighter behind the letters. Friday, March 29, 2013. Beer and country music on a Friday night. Monday, March 25, 2013. Tiffany Dome, Chicago Cultural Center. 8226; The Tiffany Dome is 38 feet in diameter. One of the grand ...
