Sure enough someone had posted the episode of Julia making a cheese souffle here. The flavor was wonderful and reminiscent of gougeres. Of course that makes sense since they share the same ingredients. The texture was slightly drier than some souffles I’ve had which made me think I might have over bake...March...

This second celebratory week for the French Fridays with Dorie group asks the question “what recipe(s) were surprises for you? 8221; OK, that wasn’t the real question, but when I think about the title – I think about those recipes where I was. Quite skeptical, but learned that Dorie knew what she was doing when she wrote about it – and I was happy to have tried it. To be honest, I didn’t really.

French Fridays Folks and Cottage Cooks. FFWD – Waffles and Cream and Pork Roast with Mangoes and Lychees. April 17, 2015. Last week, I took some time to go visit my parents, with every intention of making a smoked salmon version of last week’s French Fridays assignment. So, I found myself slowly cooking chicken thighs in saffron-scented broth and arranging butter-soaked sheets of phyllo pastry in a cake pan. The first time I made Chicken B’Stilla. Then, I made three kinds of caramel. The third batch of c...

French Fridays Folks and Cottage Cooks. FFWD – Whole-Cherry Clafoutis. July 12, 2013. You may be asking yourself, Teresa who? I’ve been absent a while, haven’t I? I fell down the rabbit hole of some contract work, but I’m glad to be back, and I can’t wait to see all your versions of this cake…pudding…pudding-cake. Maybe I’ll just stick to clafoutis, it’s more fun to say, anyway. So what does your summer hold? Click to email (Opens in new window). Click to share on Google (Opens in new window). A perfect ...

spring in Provence – the Cook and the Farmer
https://cookandfarmer.wordpress.com/2016/04/03/spring-in-provence
The Cook and the Farmer. April 3, 2016. April 4, 2016. Scroll down to see more content. Oh, I mean Portland, Oregon! Yes, that is a rosemary plant in full bloom that’s close to 4×4; that’s feet, not inches! Here these Mediterranean herbs are long lived perennials which become shrubs, unlike the puny annuals I try to grow in a single short season back home in Colorado. This week and next, I’m in Portland playing grandma to my first grandson! The Cook the Book Fridays Club. Cracked olives with exposed pits.
