I’ve always called it a sifting fork, because it’s the style we used to sift the shavings while cleaning horse stalls. Which is like cleaning a cat box, only much bigger). After spending an inordinate amount of time communing with the chicks, he insisted on a packet of Super Sugar Snap Peas. Who was I to argue? We planted his seeds. Or, as he calls them, his baby peas).

Musings and rantings of a yarn addict. March 23, 2015. It’s been raining steadily here for about four days and it’s starting to wear on all of us a bit. There’s lots of things to go and do for indoor play, but outdoor play has been very limited. When my little guy was starting to melt down after a bout of play on the deck, I knew it was time for the 4pm smoothie. Do you know about the 4pm smoothie? One more thing… This delicious beverage is both vegan and dairy-free! It’s a twofer! 4 bananas, frozen.

Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Can You Grow Four Melon Varieties In One 4'X8' Bed? The answer: Yes you can. I planted the following four v arieties in a 4'x8' raised bed. They are spaced about 20 inches apart in two rows. Two seed to each mound. Not all the plants made it but I do have at least one plant of each variety. I started the seeds in the bed in mid May. Next year I will start in April, weather permitting. So far the Sun Jewel is doing the best with about 8 melons. Melon bed on the left.
