Wednesday, July 6, 2011. WELCOME through my red door! I am really behind with posting on my blog…even worse than the last time! Taking a few hiatuses. But hope to eventually keep up more in the future. Anyway…. This table was for my husbands birthday celebration…2 1/2 months ago! His birthday was on April 18! This one had to be a little more masculine than some of my previous tables, you know, because he’s a man! I honestly can’t remember where this cute little bird came from and it wasn’t ev...As I reca...

Wednesday, February 2, 2011. WELCOME THROUGH MY RED DOOR. I found this sweet little love story on line and thought I’d share it along with my Valentine’s Day table. John Blanchard stood up from the bench, straightened his Army uniform, and studied the crowd of people making their way through Grand Central Station. He looked for the girl whose heart he knew, but whose face he didn't, the girl with the rose. When the day finally came for him to return from Europe, they scheduled their first meeting - 7:00 ...

I love the colors and can’t wait for the leaves on the many trees in our yard to start turning. I think with all the snow last year and the rain we’ve had, we will be having an explosion of reds, oranges, yellows, golds! This is a great time to gather girlfriends for a cup of coffee,. Hot tea, apple cider, or hot chocolate…. And a sweet treat!

Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Thank you all for your encouraging comments last week. I think I’ll try this again! Watermelon is my favorite fruit. I’m almost ashamed to confess that I could eat a whole one by myself in one sitting on a hot summer day. I can, however, control that urge as I did this day by not buying a real one for this setting! Okay, so the other inspiration was the adorable watermelon napkin rings I found recently at a little store nearby called ‘ Finder’s Keepers. I meant to light the cand...

Monday, January 31, 2011. The Enchanted Tea Room. WELCOME THROUGH MY RED DOOR! On a recent trip to the Southwest, my husband and I got the opportunity to visit Deming, New Mexico, where his aunt and uncle have retired. It had been quite a while since we had seen them and we were very much looking forward to the visit, even though we knew it would be much shorter than we would have liked. It’s a bungalow-style house. Isn’t it charming? Right now my husband and his aunt are enjoying a Sunday afternoon chat!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011. First Day of Spring. Welcome Through My Red Door. This past Sunday was officially the first day of spring. It’s trying so hard to make it’s first appearances in my yard. The crocus have come and gone. They never stick around long enough for me. The daffodils are still trying to make up their minds. They’ve peaked in other neighborhoods and yards…not mine! But the forsythia, well, is always reliable! It was to be the anchor of this table. I just snipped away. The fringe edged co...

Monday, November 1, 2010. A Little Fall Decorating. WELCOME THROUGH MY RED DOOR! Ave I mentioned that I love fall? You don’t need to be in a location where you experience the season to love it. T helps, but it’s not totally necessary. Do happen to live in such a location, so I can see leaves turning their vibrant colors, most years! Nd I can smell the fireplaces burning in the neighborhood; not ours because we don’t have one. I can smell everyone else’s though! Ho knows if we ever would move there, but i...
