Behind the Book: July 2012
http://author-secrets.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 19, 2012. It has been a great two years of interviewing authors, learning about new books, and getting a little behind-the-scenes view of what goes into writing a great story. However, I have found that the regular grind of scheduling interviews, reading the books (as much as I loved them all) and doing the interviews has become too time consuming for me. So, I must bid goodbye to this blog. I will still be blogging on Maggie's Meanderings. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Behind the Book: Slaves, Curses, and the Sweetest Blood
http://author-secrets.blogspot.com/2011/09/slaves-curses-and-sweetest-blood.html
Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Slaves, Curses, and the Sweetest Blood. Want to know what new series has so much buzz, I suspect it'll be a bestseller out of the box? New urban fantasy series about the House of Comarré. At the Romantic Times convention it got lots of interest. I've heard of readers dying to get ARCs. And I have to say, it couldn't happen to a nicer person. Here's the blurb for the first book in the new series. I've always loved her characters and the crazy way her mind works- a combination ...

Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Do You Have to Choose Between Love and Career? Please welcome Susan Lute. To Behind the Book. I have to admit, I LOVE Susan's books and the one we are talking about today really a struck a chord with me- especially with all these transitions I've made in the past four months. That and the love story of course. Here is the blurb:. Does it matter that every time he comes near, her heat flutters madly like in the old days? What was the spark that led you to come up with this story, a...

A Heroine I Can Relate To | Romance Book Club

Skip to main content. A Heroine I Can Relate To. A Heroine I Can Relate To. Redwood Bend by Robyn Carr. I may love romance, but I don't always love the heroines. That's why I always appreciate it so much when I read about one I can relate to and even admire. Not 50 pages later, she changes her own oil. Maybe it sounds silly, but a woman being able to work on her own car has always seemed like the epitome of independence to me - and beside that, Katie is a widowed mother of twin boys, whom she is rais...

Skip to main content. A Belated Valentine's Day Post. I may like to read romance novels, but when it comes to real life, I'm much more practical - some might even say boring. I've had my fill of wild romance and adventurous relationships, and now that I've settled down, I've found that the smallest, quietest things sometimes make me the happiest. Case in point: this Valentine's Day. And as Sarah Wendell discusses in. Everything I Know about Love I Learned from Romance Novels. The Master of Romance. Maybe...

Starting with the "Ever After" | Romance Book Club

Skip to main content. Starting with the Ever After. Starting with the "Ever After". Your Wicked Ways by Eloisa James. Most romance novels end "happily ever after," but you never get to see what that "ever after" is like. This, in fact, is a huge criticism of the genre - that they are all about the infatuation and formative stages of the relationship, but never show the reality of an ongoing relationship.
