All Attitude: Time to Get Real
http://faux-red.blogspot.com/2014/06/time-to-get-real.html
Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Time to Get Real. With the possible excommunications of John Dehlin (a proponent of "big tent Mormonism" and supporter of LGBT rights) and Kate Kelly (founder of Ordain Women), I find myself unable to keep my mouth closed any longer. I no longer consider myself a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I am still a Mormon, and will be, no matter if I am excommunicated or if I resign, because it is how I was raised. I don't discount that. I've always been tau...

To finish school, or not. Contrary to how I previously thought I felt about continuing school, I now find that I'm thinking it might not be so bad. I still think I would prefer getting a job and starting some kind of career, but I've started to feel like I'd miss doing research. . I suppose the problem is, that I keep going back and forth about whether I want to keep taking classes. Anyway, it's something I've been thinking about, and talking about. Just another option to consider. I am still awesome.

How long ago was that? Yeah, very late Hawaii post, but it was already started, so I'm finishing it. There are pictures I meant to post to go along with this, but they're at home and I am not. They were mostly like the pictures Sarah posted, but all of them included a plastic squirrel named Marty that was snuck into our luggage by some crafty friends. Marty had an excellent vacation. Did I mention snorkeling is awesome? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). How long ago was that? I am still awesome.

Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Quote of the Day. There's no equation where taking risks, braving uncertainty, and opening ourselves up to emotional exposure equals weakness." Brene Brown, Daring Greatly. Sunday, April 20, 2014. This must be watched. I am an open book. Once, back in high school, I was asked to draw my heart, and draw the fence I have surrounding my heart. I drew a chain-link fence. I am not afraid to show my heart to others, but I don't want them getting too close. Friday, April 11, 2014. My bi...

All Attitude: March 2014

Friday, March 21, 2014. First, I seriously want to thank everyone who has reached out to me, for the validation I didn't think I needed but completely appreciate. I've heard from people I never expected to hear from, and the love and acceptance has been overwhelming. I'm still me, just a more authentic me. And I've received some questions from some friends, well-meaning friends, trying to wrap their minds around the idea that someone who used to be so devoted to the Mormon faith could wind up so.lost.

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Once upon a time, over 11 years ago, I went to massage therapy school in Utah. I had a classmate, Kathleen. She was freaking awesome. We've kept in touch all these years, but haven't seen each other since she moved back to Washington, and then I moved all over the freaking United States. She called me a few months ago, and spur of the moment, decided we needed to see each other, so she used some of her school monies to buy a plane ticket out here during her spring break. A few wee...

Back from the dead. For the record, I am not a zombie, just recently recovered from the worst flu I've ever had. I picked it up as a last minute souvenir from my trip to Hawaii (another post to follow later). This flu was bad enough that I missed a few days of work, and the worst of it is I didn't even feel good enough to go downstairs and play FF13. Tragedy at its worst. Totally awesome habanero Cheetos. They far surpass the flaming hot Cheetos, even with the lime. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I'm really happy about the timing of how everything worked out. I had enough time at my RA job to package everything up nicely so that when I leave, the whole project doesn't get dropped. If anyone is interested, you can check it out here: http:/ dna.cs.byu.edu/airnet. And it seems to have pleased the professors. Now, I'm just goofing off and relaxing for about a week until I start my new job, which, if I haven't mentioned, I'm really excited about. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am still awesome.
