oh-ke-doh-ke: April 2008
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2008. After work on Wednesday afternoons, I attend a china painting class. I have been going to class for a few years now. The participants are mostly women, my age and older. I would venture a pretty safe bet that Grandma Williams (JW's Mom) is the oldest in the class, clocking in at 85 years young. Most of the students paint flowers on all shapes of china; oftentimes, they paint fruit. I enjoy painting these things as well. My least favorite flower to paint? It can be as unusual as y...

oh-ke-doh-ke: Pomp and Circumstance
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008/05/pomp-and-circumstance.html
Thursday, May 29, 2008. We now have two college graduates! Dan received BS degrees in both Physics and Math on May 10. Over 2400 diplomas were handed out. Luckily, they do not read every name like they do for high school. It rained after the ceremony. We found a good use for the mortarboard as a rain hat. Unfortunately, Mom's keepsake became a bit warped. The next day, we moved Dan out of the dorm for the last time. Moving in and out of dorms definitely gives one an incentive to graduate! Small Town Guy ...

oh-ke-doh-ke: National DNA Day
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008/04/national-dna-day.html
Friday, April 25, 2008. Since my job involves DNA research, I thought it only proper that I commemorate National DNA Day. After all, where would we be without DNA? I can safely say, my life depends on it! JW's job has depended on it for years and years, and my kids wouldn't be my kids, unless they carried my DNA. So, what is National DNA Day, and why is it on April 25? That the structure of DNA was published by James Watson and Francis Crick. Then, a mere 50 years later in April of 2003. It was a worldwi...

oh-ke-doh-ke: Run, Rachie, Run!
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008/05/run-rachie-run.html
Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Run, Rachie, Run! On Sunday May 4, the Sunday following her marathon of 12 finals, Rachel ran in the Lincoln Marathon. Like over 4000 others, she elected the half marathon (13.1 miles); 4219 finished the half, and 1170 finished the full marathon. The most she had ever run before was 9.5 miles. I was spectator, photographer, and cheering squad all wrapped into one. This was my first experience being on the sidelines of the Lincoln Marathon, and this was the 31st such event! Running ...

Just want to take this opportunity to wish all the Amie/Amy's in my family a very Happy Birthday! If you add your ages together, you are older than me, though not by much. Sunday, March 30, 2008. Hey Mom, we're both 50. does that mean we're twins? What does anyone automatically assume when two siblings are the same age? Twins, how wonderful! Nope, no adoption! Do yo...

oh-ke-doh-ke: We are all related to Sasquatch
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008/04/we-are-all-related-to-sasquatch.html
Tuesday, April 22, 2008. We are all related to Sasquatch. What is the size of your ecological footprint? Today we celebrate Earth Day. I always thought it was cool that Mau and Joe got married on Earth Day. They share a special day with the planet. How grand is that? HAPPY 19th ANNIVERSARY, MAU and JOE! Among my favorite wedding pictures of Mau and Joe is this one drawn by Rachel in 1989 using a drawing program on one of our first computers; she was four and a half. Are glad to have him in the family!

oh-ke-doh-ke: Oh where oh where have you been?
http://oh-ke-doh-ke.blogspot.com/2008/05/oh-where-oh-where-have-you-been.html
Monday, May 19, 2008. Oh where oh where have you been? Life has been hectic, especially for a so-called empty nester. Two baby birds have come home to roost with all their paraphernalia. Rach did not come home, but we helped her move from one apartment to another. Her two former roommates are in the process of leaving Lincoln.). I have missed writing blogs on so many things, but will catch everyone up on our lives in Lincoln over the next couple weeks. Hell, you've earned it! May 19, 2008 at 9:49 AM.
