Delightful Handwork: June 2015
http://delightfulhandwork.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The hollyhocks are blooming! Aren't they just lovely? Such an old-fashioned flower - in the best possible sense. When I went out to snap these pics it was so humid my lens kept fogging up! I think it gave the photos a rather pleasing softness though. Every time a walk past these beauties I find myself singing "Hollyhock, hollyhock, oh holly hollyhock! To the tune of Lollipop. What do you have blooming? Photos by Yours Truly}. Links to this post. A Joyful Handmaiden: Spring Semester is Underway!
http://ajoyfulhandmaiden.blogspot.com/2015/01/spring-semester-is-underway.html
Saturday, January 17, 2015. Spring Semester is Underway! We shall never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; IT IS WHAT JESUS IS, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul. 8212; Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Before the semester began, I found myself in a coffee shop downton and was able to do some reading and journaling. Sometimes it's good to "come away and rest" as you re-group and prepare for another semester. Mmm, looks like a yummy treat! January 17, 2015 at 2:31 PM.

Carolien's stitches: November 2014
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 November 2014. A week off . Have you spotted the white veil over the lawn this morning? Bird bath frozen, pansies heads down, white leaves . We had a touch of frost earlier on, but I think King Winter has really arrived now. Time for my cherished scarf from Jenny, I took it out a few days ago. Mmm, so lovely, that scarf. Yes, there are remnants of summer, nature continues to amaze me. But in a few days the leaves were swirling down, almost in a hurry . See the tree now, by the way? Oops, you ...

Carolien's stitches: April 2015
http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. I hope you're all doing well. It's still cold here in Holland, we even had a late touch of frost. Time for some more warmth now, time to put the geraniums out! Yes, I'm politely waiting till the ice Saints have greeted us and have left the country for this year . The plants and trees are turning green rapidly though, thanks to the rain we had. Talking about green: I made my first olive green garland on the. Sampler. Lovely colours, I'm enjoying this new start. Home of a Quilter.

Carolien's stitches: January 2015

Friday, 30 January 2015. I hope you're having a nice day. We had a cold but nice day, partly in . Zutphen. Zutphen is an old Hanseatic city, a hanzestad. At a 40 minutes drive from Zevenaar. Fleur and I had never been there before. I knew it had to be a nice old city and it's true! It's a charming place to go, even on a cold winter's day. The parking space in the city centre was a good start: lovely small houses, dated 1873, surrounded it. A good view for Anton Pieck, I guess. See the street? A Catholic ...

Carolien's stitches: February 2015

Friday, 27 February 2015. While she's traveling . While Sofia is traveling by train to Zevenaar, I can show you my present for her. Last week I finished the top for her quilt. After more than two years! I had some 'in-betweens', I must confess. A baby quilt, Cock and Yvette's quilt . Since Sofia was so patient to wait and wait and wait, I decided to speed up the process. How on earth do you quilt a thimble quilt? It's a very lively but tiny pattern. Small patterns? Endless. Big patterns? Driving back hom...

Thursday, 23 April 2015. An afternoon in Utrecht. Last week we went to Utrecht. André had a meeting there and Fleur was investigating something as well. We decided to combine things and spend the afternoon together, in-between-things. We visited a familiar ice cream 'hot spot' on the Oudegracht (translated: The Old Canal). They had a new flavour:. The cloister part near the Dom. I hope I can make more pictures to show you . Another time. House of the Pope. Sol iustitiae illustra nos,. We're nearly there&...

Monday, January 19, 2015. THE Miss Lemon sweater - Part 1 - Planning. I have long been an admirer of Miss Lemon. Especially as portrayed by Pauline Moran in the Poirot series. The one with David Suchet as Poirot. The ONLY one in my humble opinion.). This is a character with brains, style, and class. Not to mention terrific knitwear. But, I just did. I've been invited to a Literary Ball coming up in February.. We are asked to come dressed as our favorite literary character. Rolls eyes at herself}. I usua...
