A Travel Journal by Linda Cron. July 20, 2012. What do you call a bear in Alaska? Today was our fly-out. It was fun and exciting! The flying was fun and the fishing was great…here’s Dan with a beautiful Silver Salmon. It was cold and it rained all day, but we warmed up a bit when that bear swam across the river over to our side. Our pilot tried to scare him away, but it didn’t work. We high-tailed it to the plane and left the bear behind! This is a shot I took of Rich with a Steelhead. What a beauty!
