Tuesday, September 22, 2015. A few sights along my tour of the northern coast including a brief wildlife encounter and what will probably be my final northern lights show. This is Godafoss, waterfall of the Gods. As soon as the sun hits the mist spraying off the falls, rainbows appear. And the water flowing down this river was a clear aqua blue color making it even more magical! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Linda G Deaton Nature Photography Gallery.

Friday, September 18, 2015. Spent the last few days exploring Vatnajokull National Park which is home to the world's largest ice cap outside the poles. It dominates the entire region with rivers of frozen ice pouring down the valleys. Some great hiking and plenty more waterfalls. Also visited Fjallsarlon and Jokulsarlon glacial lagoons where wind and water sculpt the floating icebergs eventually making their way to the sea. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Saturday, September 19, 2015. The journey along Iceland's East Coast is filled with rugged coastlines and amazing mountain scenery, or at least what could be seen thru al the fog and clouds. Visited several towns along the coast including Seydisfjordur which is a quaint harbor town located at the end of one of the most spectacular drives I've encountered so far. The scenery along the way was just breathtaking! The glacial lagoon is incredible! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, September 13, 2015. Explored the lush mountains and rocky coastal areas in northwest Iceland around the Snaefellsjokull Glacier including a drive up to edge of the glacier which was cool. The scenery is amazing at every turn including the steeple topped Mt Kirkjufell. Also visited Stykkisholmur which was my first "Mitty" moment as this is where the helicopter/bar scene was filmed. "Ground Control to Major Tom"! If that doesn't make sense, then watch the movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Linda G Deaton Nature Photography Travel Blog: Next stop...Greenland!
http://lindadeaton.blogspot.com/2015/09/next-stopgreenland.html
Saturday, September 26, 2015. On the flight back from Iceland, we were rewarded with amazing, clear views of Greenland. Despite the name, the country is mostly covered in ice and snow, unlike Iceland. The views of the snow capped mountains, ice fields and glacial lakes were breathtaking! Will have to return one day to get a closer look, but it was a perfect ending to an awesome trip! Linda G Deaton Nature Photography Gallery. C) Linda G. Deaton. Awesome Inc. theme. Saturday, April 20, 2013. My first Web design video. While working on my E Portfolio class at Rowan Cabarrus Community College, I discovered I had to create a video! So I went on a search for video software and found the coolest software. You don't have to download anything and it will capture your screen movements and voice (If you have a microphone). SO I began playing around with it. In a matter of a few minutes I had created my first video! Check it out and let me know what you think.
