Monday, May 18, 2015. Thing 30: Final Reflections and What’s Next? I would like to echo what I said in my last post, though: each assignment definitely required more than 1 hour to explore and reflect upon. I think 20 hours PD credit would have been far more fair for the time and effort required. Friday, May 15, 2015. Thing 29: Student Response Tools. Library Blog 101: March 2014

http://www.lindafecura.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2014. Thing 18: Digital Tattoo and Digital Citizenship. This is a topic I think about quite a bit - both in terms of my personal life as well as it relates to my professional life and my role as librarian. I am proud to say that I have as tiny a digital tattoo as I think is possible in this day and age. I searched for myself on Google, Spokeo, and 123People, and I'm delighted to say little more turned up than what can be found in public census records. Monday, March 10, 2014. Besides, m...

Library Blog 101: February 2014

http://www.lindafecura.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 5, 2014. But don't get me wrong: I'm not a purist nor am I anti-technology. I just haven't found my life requiring me to add more layers of complexity to my already complex existence. at least until I read some of these articles. I do know from reading these articles and browsing the app lists that there's a lot of potential for educational connections. I certainly don't feel that they are the key to great teaching, but like with any tool, they certainly can enhance what we do.

Library Blog 101: April 2015

http://www.lindafecura.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Thing 28: Tech Trends and Scanning the Horizon. We had a similar assignment in Track 1 called "Future Trends" which I completed in 2011. I just re-read my post for that assignment and I think I was correct about a lot of my predictions thus far. So how does all of this tie together to what I personally see on the horizon? So colleges want students who have developed critical thinking skills who are comfortable using a variety of information sources that they can not only analyz...

Thursday, March 26, 2015. Thing 26: Taking the Lead: Connecting with your Stakeholders. This assignment certainly required significant time to watch and read the supporting materials, but I think I've taken away a lot of useful ideas. That said, there were other tools like Canva, Screencastomatic, Picasa, and Powtoon that were new to me. However, knowing that our next assignment is a pick-your-own topic, perhaps exploring one or more of those could be an option. I suppose I could email a link to it to ad...
