Lindaraxa: Sweet And Spicy Mango Chutney

http://lindaraxa.blogspot.com/2015/05/sweet-and-spicy-mango-chutney.html

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Sweet And Spicy Mango Chutney. Like a lot of you who have been exposed to mango chutney in this country or in the UK, I grew up on Major Grey's. I don't know if it is the best chutney in the world but it is definitely my benchmark and what I pull out of the fridge to accompany Indian food and sometimes grilled meats. I know, sacrilege. I should probably be shot by the chutney police but some habits are hard to break. If you are very lucky, you will have inherited a sterling set of m...

Lindaraxa: January 2015

Saturday, January 10, 2015. A Bittersweet Start To The New Year. About the only thing that is showing any beauty or color in the garden are the ornamental kale and cabbage I planted last Fall. They are putting on quite a show! At the end of October 2014. My new cleaning crew. Back in a bit. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Today she's on chicken soup and soda crackers, but she insists it was not "the rich food". Have A Happy New Year! ButI was all dressed up! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to my home.

Lindaraxa: December 2014

http://lindaraxa.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 28, 2014. Roast Duck Legs With Honey, Vinegar And Caramelized Apples. I bought four duck legs last week with the best intentions of turning them into duck confit for pates and cassoulets in the future; but I got lazy and decided instead to roast them and serve them with a sauce. After glancing through a few cookbooks, I came upon this recipe from Marie Blanche de Broglie. I have substituted duck legs for duck breast this time, but feel free to use either. It's a great recipe and quit...

Lindaraxa: The Summer Garden

http://lindaraxa.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-summer-garden.html

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. I know everyone is talking about how high the temperatures have risen in their part of the world so I won't bore you with details about what is going on in my neck of the woods.but it IS HOT and HUMID, more so this year than others, or so it seems. This, after the cold winter we had, is not good for any garden, least of all one in the South. MM's living room and bedroom windows front and left. Mortitia's Garden is on the right. The gardenias have come back to a point. I think ...

Lindaraxa: Georgia Peach Chutney With Caramelized Ginger

http://lindaraxa.blogspot.com/2011/07/georgia-peach-chutney-with-caramelized.html

Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Georgia Peach Chutney With Caramelized Ginger. The Georgia peaches at my local Farmer's Market are so good I can't stop myself from buying them every time I stop for fresh local produce. This year I have already made peach jam, peach pie for company three times, and peach ice cream at least a couple of times now that I have a new ice cream maker. I just posted a recipe for a light peach smoothie. Makes 7 to 7 1/2 pints. 3 cups cider vinegar. 7 cups white sugar. 2 TB mustard seeds.

Recreating Eden Landscape Blog. A garden that pleases me is a garden…designed with deliberation – David Hicks. Contact Me / Services. April 12, 2015. Every spring I have posted about the Wordsworth meadow, however, what follows the daffodils is just as exciting. It took a lot less work too. Two native plants allowed to seed themselves over a period of time. This is the reward for allowing the seeds to form and ripen before the meadow is cut. Need I mention this has taken 17 years? Live, Life, Love and Laughter: Easter Tables

http://lifelola.blogspot.com/2013/03/easter-tables.html

Monday, March 25, 2013. So, in just under a week it will be Easter Sunday, celebrated by Christians over the world, but also by those who worship at the altar of chocolate. Whatever your feelings about the origins of the celebrations, it. So easy to do. just empty an egg and paint the shell gold, thread a tulip through it and you're done. As for the food, usually I like to do a slow roast shoulder of lamb, a nod to the paschal, but this year I'm ringing the changes with an all-in-one spring chicken.

A gentle reminder to focus on what is good, honest and beautiful. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Michael Jackson.make the change. One of my favorite photos is of President Reagan with Michael and First Lady Nancy as he was presenting an award for Michael Jackson's humanitarian work with drugs and alcohol. Of course my love of his music leads me to believe the words from Man In The Mirror."take a look at yourself and make that change.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
