Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Well, if you look closely, you'll note that my last post was September 2nd. Turned out that my computer's hard drive crashed later that day. You'll note the external hard drive next to the computer. Yes, it backed up my files daily at 10pm. All my files you say? I LOVE MY NEW MAC. I was so pleased with the blank pallet that this quilt allowed. I asked Linda to quilt it with a very whimsical overall effect, in very bright colours. Isn't it great? Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Hard to believe, but it's our 12th Anniversary today. It doesn't seem that long. My kids were just 15 and 13 when I opened the store. Sonja is now 27 and Nicholas 25. Saturday, February 4, 2012. We've been having a lot of fun with our English Paper Pieced Hex-a-thon here at the store. And there has certainly been more interest than I expected. But, sometimes interest comes from unexpected places. As Marie's dog Dexter proved this week. Notice the little teeth marks in the papers and the needle still attached. Labels: Dog eats Homework. Monday, April 23, 2012. Batik Beauty on the Frame. A quick post to show what I've been busy with this week. I thought I'd be done quilting this by now and working on the binding. Unfortunately, I've been unquilting, as well as quilting. It's different quilting for a show. I'm being extra careful but still noticing imperfections, then wondering if anyone else will see them. I'm making blue and pink blocks this month. This is what I have made so far. A scrappy log cabin block @ 9.5 inches. A talkin' turkey block, pattern by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.com. Some mini maverick star blocks and 9 patch blocks that are 3.5 inches. And some 16 patch maverick star blocks. Labels: scrappy rainbow blocks.
