Open Your Blue Eyes. Chronicles of a semester drenched in discovery / lyon, france. Qu’est-ce que c’est? September 28, 2014. September 28, 2014. A longer post is coming with details of the past two weeks, but I thought it might be nice to include some pictures as well. Stories to follow! Also, for more pictures, click here. To look at the ones from my Facebook album! The “Only Lyon” park, home to casual afternoons and PDA-prone teenagers. The Rhône river, which I see every day. The view from Fourvière!

Open Your Blue Eyes. Chronicles of a semester drenched in discovery / lyon, france. Qu’est-ce que c’est? Equilibrium; les équipes MAG S; Ecuador, exhaustion… excitement. October 23, 2014. October 23, 2014. Lyon is a really bike-friendly city. There are bike-share stations (called Velov’, a combination of velo [bike] and love ) peppered all over the city, bike racks are almost always full in any public place, and it is significantly more probable that an average Lyonnais owns a bike, rather than a car.

There is no cranberry sauce in France. There’s no canned pumpkin or disposable foil pie tins, either (yes, I checked). You still support and encourage me to be my fullest person you joke about the Magis, but you both embody it. I can’t wait to see you both (and Oscar, obviously) when I get home and Mom, tomorrow! A Step Along the Way. Viewing the quotidien one beautiful moment at a time. Crocuses peering upwards, noticed on my bike ride to campus on Overbrook Avenue; invading all possible soil, they search imperviously to be noticed, to grow, to sprout upwards in sheer pursuit of life. These flowers aren’t even living where they’re supposed to, and they’re thriving. I think we could all take a lesson from crocuses. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). A Step Along the Way. Viewing the quotidien one beautiful moment at a time. A few torrents of light, several flashes of rain, swirls and swirls of wind and it is over. It is the loss of control, I think, that scares us the most to know that we are so limited and helpless in the face of such whirling gusts, such natural and inherent power. What can I do? How can I restore my normal? I find myself thinking as I flick the light switch on and off to no avail, knowing I can’t run my laptop battery down or cha...

A Step Along the Way. Viewing the quotidien one beautiful moment at a time. All Down[Hawk]hill From Here. Sitting in the library, I was hit with an overwhelming nostalgia, the bittersweet sadness that inevitably accompanies the dwindling end of a school year in college. Shouldn’t I know what to do, who to be friends with? Maybe it’s because I’m going abroad for the fall, and won’t be back in this place for another eight months (absent the summer I’m here for research, but it’s different than a semester)&...

A Step Along the Way. Viewing the quotidien one beautiful moment at a time. The Things I Thought on APEX. Feeling a bit nostalgic (and I’m super late on anything APEX-related), but I happened to stumble upon a few things I wrote down in the “Notes” section of my phone last March. World, here are [some of my] thoughts. We’re all just stumbling through life trying to figure all this mess out, trying to see each other through. We smell of cigars and bonding. Today has been the best day of my life. Sorry, yo...

Adventures in Hohoe
Wednesday, November 5, 2008. So I'm back in Canada now. Don't know how I feel about that - not unhappy, but I am certainly sorry to leave the children and the orphanage behind. Now I am sitting here in the den on my laptop unsure what to write. It was such a wonderful experience and I feel like its not truly a goodbye because I will be visiting again soon. I'll write more about my final few days and the trip generally later :P (When I feel more inspired). Cheers. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. On to Green ...
Pieces of Italy | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. November 11, 2011. Beautiful views from the Piazzale Michelangelo today. As I walked up the long driveway to the top, I noticed so much confetti. When I reached the top I saw there had just been a wedding and I was inspired to inappropriately take a photo of the bride and groom. I couldn’t help myself and although I think it was wrong and not my place, I just had to and now, I just gotta share. November 10, 2011. The majority of my day was spent at the Boboli Gardens....

August 11, 2015. So I did it. 100 days of lip sync. Nothing, really. Am I glad I did it? Uh, yea, I can say for the rest of my life that I did 100 consecutive days of lip sync videos. That is fucking cool. Also, I stuck with this silly thing that I set out to do and I finished it. There’s nothing like sticking with something until the very end and seeing it through. It’s an accomplishment. Even on one of the very worst days of the 100 days, when I did Bombs Over Baghdad, Outkast and was close to tears, I...

Another lovely coincidence of this summer was that Emma, my dear friend from college, has just so happened to be working in Mexico City for the past year as a missionary through Incarnate Word Missions. O Brave New World | Adventures with the United States Peace Corps in Moldova
O Brave New World. Adventures with the United States Peace Corps in Moldova. August 13, 2012 by lindsayinmoldova. I left Moldova on the 25. The roads here are gorgeous, as are the parks. Everything is clearly marked and always clean. As I was strolling through the park with a friend the other day, he told me that there is a garbage strike going on in Seattle right now and it’s a real problem. I looked around me and saw not one cigarette butt out of place and marveled to myself. Five Most Unexpected Thing...
