http://twoyearitchblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/parting-thoughts.html
Looking to serve our country and add a little adventure to our lives, we packed up and joined the Foreign Service in early 2013. Current assignment: Guatemala City, Guatemala. Guatemala City, GT Washington DC. Friday, May 29, 2015. John and I were recently asked to sum up our thoughts on the last 2 years in Guatemala. Here's what we published in the Embassy Newsletter. We are still in denial that it is time to leave already. What surprised you the most about Guatemala? 3 San Juan la Laguna. Honorable men...

Looking to serve our country and add a little adventure to our lives, we packed up and joined the Foreign Service in early 2013. Current assignment: Guatemala City, Guatemala. Guatemala City, GT Washington DC. Thursday, January 16, 2014. Signs signs everywhere are signs. Mistranslations crack me up. I find the website Engrish Funny. 100% entertaining. Even when no words are involved, for example in the homegrown Guatemalan signs we see everywhere, the interpretative differences are highly amusing. The fo...

Since the Hubster and I are still "new" here and learning the ways of the road we casually asked our friend, "huh, did you just go through that red light? Our friend replied confidently, "I think you can do that here.". Whether it's the a...

Pryor Adventures: January 2012
http://pryoradventures.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 11, 2012. It all started with a scooter in the driveway and ended with 1 proud nanny and a very confused mommy. Monday was just hectic, whose Monday isn't? Tess had been sick all weekend and I had to take her in to the Health Clinic to get some antibiotics for an ear infection, so instead of driving Finn to school, a friend, M, was set to pick him up. Most people may not know this but the main transportation of people in Laos is a motorcycle.). I tried to hide the shock on my face.

Pryor Adventures: Hell's Gate National Park
http://pryoradventures.blogspot.com/2013/10/hells-gate-national-park.html
Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Hell's Gate National Park. Hell's Gate was originally named valley where lots of people died because a volcano erupted in the 1600's killing lots of people, but the first settlers who used the area to transport goods from Tanzania decided Hell's Gate sounded better. When we got to the park we had a nice picnic and watched the animals down below living the high life of not being hunted. Climbing down a particularly steep part of the gorge, wearing Ty. After Tess nearly drowned...

Pryor Adventures: July 2012
http://pryoradventures.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. Last night I experienced the longest 30 minutes of my life. Maggie disappeared from the local park; like we couldn’t find her anywhere. Imagine losing your kid in the States, where you speak the language. Now imagine losing your kid in a country that you do not speak the language. Here’s the story:. Calmly from structure to structure looking, not quite to the screaming of her name point, but I can feel it, she’s not here. 8221; Woah, so am I mad at him? Ever since the kids could st...
