Random thoughts from a thinking person…. How is this year treating you so far? One year on. →. October 12, 2011. Mum is always there isn’t she? We say we do not take her for granted don’t we? We think she will always be there, oh sure we know that one day she won’t, but do we really understand that or prepare for it? If your Mum is still around phone her now and have a chat…for no reason. Pop round if you can just for a cup of tea and a cuddle.for no reason. Tell her that you love her.

Our parents Charles Ackerman and Barbara Aida Vivienne Arnold form the backbone of this family website. In the menu to the left under 'Families' you can find more information about each family and this will grow as information is added. The extended Ackerman Family. We had the usual games and fun although a lot less food was thrown this year, possibley because Lucy was not there, or maybe becasue Rich and Sue had new carpets, anyway, it was a great day.

First Anniversary

September the 8th was the first anniversary of our Mum's ( Barabara Ackerman) death. All her five children and their children ( Max and Aleshia in the USA joined us in their thoughts) met for lunch in the village Handcross in Sussex where she was born and grew up. The Red Lion pub has changed quite a bit from those day and provided us with a terrific settin, great food and drink and the family provided the entertainment by way of non stop chatter.Mum would have loved it.

Long weekend in Marseillan. Long weekend in Marseillan. Andy and I took a long weeekend and flew down to Marseillan where sister Elizabeth and Peter have a house. Marseillan is a beautiful Medieville teon at the end of the longest canal in France. Rick Stein made a TV programm travelling the length of this canal.
