Energy Independence for Linlithgow. Heat from the Street Lives! February 14, 2016. Mdash; 2 Comments. So there’s a lot happened in the last fifteen months……. Firstly we raised 25,000 from Local Energy Scotland’s Phase One Local Energy Challenge Fund (LECF) to put together a bid for our project to install solar PV on the roofs of the Vennel flats and use this power to pump heat from wastewater flowing beneath the Linlithgow streets. Linlithgow Natural Grid’s (LNG) ‘Heat from the Street’. Inspired by the ‘...

Energy Independence for Linlithgow. If an observer were to listen carefully in Linlithgow, as with any other similar town, he would hear the sounds of everyday life, the buzz of traffic; the hum of household appliances, TV’s and machinery. Then at night he would see the street and domestic lights, and ‘through a glass darkly’, the infra-red glow of heat radiating from Linlithgow buildings. In order to do so, LNG aims – through the use of simple ‘light touch’ agreements and updating simp...This distribute...

Energy Independence for Linlithgow. Where there’s Muck there’s Brass. October 24, 2014. Mdash; Leave a comment. Where’s there’s Muck there’s Brass. The difference in this case is that the source of heat (and power) demand is not the Vennel flats, but is the Mill Road Industrial Estate, which also has acres of roofs over which we are casting covetous eyes as sites for solar PV energy generation. Which I christened the Natural Grid a couple of years ago having become involved through a lifelong interest in...

Sunday, 3 October 2010. 02/10/10 Edinburgh Uni 5s: 1 - 0 Linlithgow 1s. It took Linlithgow a while to get use to the bouncy Peffermill Pitch. The game went from one end to the other end both teams creating several chances but still the score remained goaless. Both teams continued with strong attacks at both ends, eventually a chance fell to Uni and they fired in a strong shot which beat the goalie. In the last 10 minutes Linlithgow continued to press the uni defence but to no avail.
